Exclamation Man shot and killed in Pittsburgh area barber shop

Man fatally shot in Wilkinsburg barber shop
Friday, November 06, 2009
By Jim McKinnon, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

A man was fatally shot this afternoon by a man who walked into a crowded Wilkinsburg barber shop with his gun drawn.

The shooting was reported at 1:05 p.m. in Ezell's Barber Shop in the 1800 block of Montier Street near Laketon Road.

Witnesses said a man walked into the shop with a handgun. A customer sitting in a chair waiting for a haircut rushed at the gunman and struggled with him.

As that happened, customers and employees rushed for the doors.

Witnesses said they heard as many as five gunshots but didn't see which way the shooter fled.

At the time of the shooting, witnesses said all five barber chairs and all the waiting room chairs were filled.

Police did not release the name of the victim pending notification of family.

More details in tomorrow's Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Ugh. KDKA-TV just had their report about this. They said that police are looking for two suspects. Just one problem...they didn't give any details about the suspects, other than clothing.

So, if you see two people wearing clothes, be careful.

That's because nobody saw nuthin'.

And those who were interviewed made damned sure to say that ON CAMERA, so they aren't the next ones to be capped.

Nice to know that when someone makes an attempt to save everyone's life, nobody else is going to help.

Yeah. All the chairs were full, which means 2 people per, the haircutter and the haircuttee (10) and the waiting room was full yet, no one saw nuthin. But its a nice neighboorhood and the police don't do nuthin to keep us safe. Maybe if the gov. forced employers to hire us at a brand new facility it would turn this 'hood back into someplace special.

Oh, thanks a lot, guys Jeeze, somebody does the hard part and nobody is in for the easy part.

The guys at my barber shop seem a little nervous about my sidearm, I'm sure this isn't going to help.

If they are sensible folk, your presence should put them more at ease. Unless, you look like psycho killer, then probably not

Be safe (and get a haircut, no shave).

If he walks in wearing clothes, he's one of the suspects.

It's kinda strange. I think they are cool with it in principle but there was a little nervous joking up front. I'm due for a good mowing so we'll see soon. I used to CC there because it's a very small shop and there's a guy there with problems that affect his behavior.
