Cops: Tobyhanna man shot 4 outside party

LONG POND — A 17-year-old was injured in an apparent drive-by shooting Monday evening as he rode a motorized scooter on Glade Drive South in the Emerald Lakes private community, police said.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police arrived at the scene around 5:30 p.m. to find the wounded teen, who was rushed to Community Medical Center in Scranton.

According to PMRP Detective Scott Dunlap, the youth told police he was alone on the road when a car drove up and someone inside shot him in the lower torso.

Police did not identify the victim because he is a minor.

Police are looking for a beige or gold Jeep in connection with the incident.

The Emerald Lakes development was the scene of another shooting over the weekend in which four people were wounded outside a private party around 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

Dheklan "Dek" John, 22, of Tobyhanna turned himself in to police after witnesses identified him as the gunman in that incident.

Most of the crap comes down from up on top the mountain and just uses the park and ride.

Indeed. As I was saying before, Effort is actually a little green zone surrounded by scum. You head up the mountain and the class of people drops from upper-middle down to sub-low.

Once again I live up the mountain. Please take some care in making blanket statements. There are quiet areas not in developments that are not sub-low.

Hey man, wasn't trying to be offensive. I was talking about what I see, my experience. Not talking about the unseen. I'm sure there are good people off the beaten path. Generally speaking you hit sierra view and a couple of those trailer parks and you've got gang members from the inner city and meth heads.

Well, I certainly hope this fire doesn't spread too quickly. Trying to sell our place in Blakeslee and I don't want any potential buyers scared away.

I almost feel like I'm safer here, 30 minutes from center city. And the surrounding trash.
