A HUGE +1 to this one.

For more on the mandatory training or vetting argument, see this oldie but goodie: http://www.pafoa.org/forum/general-2...re-voting.html

Agreed, I dont know how it devolved to this. How do people not understand The RIGHT of the PEOPLE to BEAR ARMS SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED

Also for a bit while I'm on this rant.

Arms - Weapons
Weapons: Anything out there, we have this right if we need to abolish the government, as well as to protect our right of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness

Machine Guns, whatever means necessary.

I agree also no permit should be required, I was just trying to illustrate was that FL requires more from an applicant than PA.

don't get me wrong here, i would love to see pa go to no permit required as well, i was just saying the same as ccinpa, that fl is a tougher permit to get than pa.

well yes, mostly the standards for getting a ltcf and PURCHASING a firearm are the same a la they both use the PICS system and they are the same rules i.e. pa UFA.

BUT those rules do not apply to ownership per se, you can OWN a firearm and not be eligible to get a ltcf, case in point a guy i know can not pass PICS due to a misdemeanor theft when he was 19, he's 29 now (more than 1 year POSSIBLE incarceration, even though he was given 6 mths probation), BUT he can OWN the firearms he had prior and is legal to buy/obtain permit in other states where as long as it was more than 3 or 5 years prior and not a felony or violent crime(fl and va) then it is fine.

But due to PA UFA saying that ANYONE charged or convicted (i like that too, conviction not really necessary, just the charge) of ANY crime punishble by more than a year in jail is ineligible to purchase or get a ltcf, forever, unless you have the record expunged or petition the court to grant releif. Basically Pa is one of the few states that hand down felony lenght sentences for misdemeanors.

more here section 6105 and 6109 http://www.acslpa.org/pa_uniform_firearms_act.htm

It appears that Florida Dept. of Agriculture website has now removed footnote 4 from Pennsylvania on their reciprocity list.
