Default Two shot dead, Sat 6-27 in Northern Liberties, Philadelphia

http://cbs3.com/local/Shooting.North...2.1062742.html

Quote:
Northern Liberties - Two people were shot and killed Saturday afternoon inside the Piazza at Schmidt's in Northern Liberties

Cops were called out to the scene around 5:45 p.m. Upon arriving they found two people shot on the seventh floor of the building located at 1050 N. Hancock Street. The victims include a white female in her 30's and a black male also thought to be in his 30's.

Police say they are looking for two suspects who were seen leaving the building after the shooting.
This is the first shooting in my neighborhood in a while (like 7 months or so). Just giving a heads up - I know there are quite a few PAFOA members in NL. Please post updates and descriptions if/when they become available.

I feel sorry for the victims and their families. Who wants to bet the shooters have been in and out of jail for violent crimes their whole lives. Sick.

Watch your ass - it's the only one you've got.

it happened on the 7th floor of one of the two rectangular apt. buildings at the Piazza. There was a cop on the news saying they had surveillance video of 'two to three' people fleeing the scene. Man was shot multiple times, woman shot in the head and neck. No descriptions yet.

I just saw the news on channel 6...one guy was somewhat stunned this would happen in NL...

Nowhere is 100% safe.

??? Where the heck did you get this idea from? There are many PAFOA members living in NL. I know many other people in NL, yuppies and non-yuppies, blacks, whites, yellows, who own and/or carry guns. I even know that there are some who own/carry guns for their protection illegally, but who otherwise law abiding (spare me the lecture about this point). No one in NL is under ANY illusion that shit like this don't go down in the neighborhood. We had murders, rapes, robberies, beatings, not as high frequencies as other neighborhood, but EVERYONE here knows about it and take precautions their own ways. While our neighborhood didn't expect a double homicide in an upscale apartment building, NO ONE here ever thought that our "little area is immune to this shit". Your statement is rash, unmeasured, and untrue.

Oh yeah, a couple of yuppies in the news makes for a representation of the entire neighborhood. Opinions are formed out of facts, not pulled out of one's rear end.

For most of us in Happy Valley 'The first shooting in my neighborhood in a while' would be more like 'the first shooting in my neighborhood ever'

Jeeze, just thinking back the last shooting I can even think of in State College was when some crazy got shot by the police outside a Christian radio station he had threatened... and that was years ago.

You'd think that everyone in your area (philly general) would carry for protection- I just don't get why so much of the city is anti-2a...
