Gotta love the title
"NRA against ban on gun sales to terror suspects" Sounds so scary. That Evil NRA wanting terrorists to have guns! The true headline which would be: "NRA against denying firearm sales to people on a watch list that is so arbitrary and shoddy it includes US Senators" That isn't quite as scary.

Took part in the poll for all the good it will do. Considering it is being implimented by MSNBC if it comes out in our favor no one will ever hear about or see it again and if it comes out in favor of New Jersey Frank and company they will be trumpeting it as THE next best thing to sliced bread. We need to start a contact campaign to the two idiots from Pa. to get them to vote against it. Like those two would vote against a gun law.

Again, an imposition on law abiding citizens that doesn't address a problem, it just makes it appear as though someone is doing something, and the anti-gun people will buy right into it. If a terrorist group wants arms, they will get them, if they don't already have them. Chances are that they wouldn't be satisfied with the weapons that are readily available to the general population anyhow.
There are too many cases of mistaken identity as far as suspected terrorists are concerned. Even well known politicians have been denied boarding an airplane. This would give the opportunity to deny rights arbitrarily, even if the person isn't "listed", they might "look suspicious". That's my 2¢. |

Profiling at its worst!!!!!!!! just because we think you might be one we think it better for use to err on the side of caution sorry you cant protect yourself from the real bad guys and girls out there.... its just our feeling that gun owners are dangerous and more guns means more crime....... i can hear it now....

Why would you ever want to deny a sale to a terror suspect? If they are on a watch list, they should be watched; correct? Great way to tip a terrorist off.
Obviously a D from NJ introducing this says nothing about terror, only about guns. Especially because it is completely arbritary. |
