I was listening to Sirius Patroit 144 today and they were talking about this Article. This Guy writes for the Toledoblade & Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. This is scarry thinking on the anti's part of a GUN FREE AMERICA - It could never happen!!

With the Imus situation, and the VT shootings, this article is just one more layer on the cake of madness and insanity. I can't even comprehend how what the author proposes could be OK with anyone.

Those who occasionally purchase the fish-wrapping paper known as The Toledo Blade and accidentally read the contents therein will not be surprised to hear that its editorial board is composed of a bunch of left-wing paranoids still pining away for the '70s.

As for his "ideas", I can only say that when I read them, I was suddenly reminded of that famous headline from The Onion back in the '90s: "Drugs Win Drug War". Does he somehow think that this could work? I mean, EVER?

What amazes me is that he would even WANT it to work. He wants to live in an America where nationwide searches and confiscation of weapons in violation of both the 2nd and 4th Amendments takes place? That's not America, that's Nazi Germany where SWAT becomes the modern-day Gestapo.

Isn't it weird?? I have some family in the Toledo area and have spent time there too. Toledo politics are honestly worse than Philly. Not necessarily in terms of corruption, but rather in "progressive" ideas. The news printed in the Toledo Blade reads like one giant lefist op-ed.

I'd be interested to know how that old frontier town ever got to be so liberal, whether it's Detroit creeping south or a legacy of the unions. Columbus, OH, 5 times more yuppified than Toledo and a college town isnt nearly as blue on the electoral map.

Thank God for the internet and talk radio. Without them people in areas like toledo, Baltimore, and Philly would have no alternative source of news and information.

There is a heavy influence on people from the media. It is quite evident in the above mentioned areas, as with so many like them how far left the people are willing to go when they read that dribble day in and day out. Can you say indoctrinated?!?!?!

I'm glad he printed this article. It puts their agenda on public display, the agenda the anti-gunners, leftists, et al deny exists.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, since the unannounced searches would have long raised the hackles of the ALCU types a long time ago. I'm surprised none of the PAFOA barristers have weighed in on this, since the number of legal infractions on the author's plan are legion.

This article is nothing more than a tyrant's wet dream. What I find interesting as a former writer is their attempt to qualify themselves with a previous "history" with guns. This theme is apprearing with increasing frequency.

Once again I point to the 2nd amendment and the DC Gun Ban overturn where the 2nd amendment is defined, I hope it goes through the supreme court and comes out unaltered and then EVERYONE CAN SHUT UP ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS! Sorry, just getting a little tired of it all lol.

As to the article, He's not proposing that it's done, but he seems more to be proposing, how it could be done since everyone says it's impossible. But I'm sure he even knows it would never happen.
