Maybe it is a secret training base for Obama's Civilian Defense Force.

They'll probably destroy all of it, this is the fascist state of NJ, I don't know. There is probably some stuff collectors would want to get their hands on.

So... is it illegal to own a bunch of guns and ammo?

Since when does assaulting a police officer translate into a warrant for someone's home?

Burglary, maybe.

Frigging news is talking about the guns, which aren't necessarily illegal, and aren't the real story. Lazy ass reporter.

Typical story from the crappy media we have these days. Just get the story out and sensationalize it somehow, then worry about getting the facts correct later. I need more info to have any opinion. Also, you and I would view this as a large collection of guns, not a "huge cache of weapons".

Joe, you said you were in law enforcement at one time right? So if you got assaulted on the job and they got away, you'd be ok with no one going to look for them and bringing them to justice? I can't believe that.

But burglary...where most times no one is even home when it's committed...thats more worthy of an warrant? The police probably had an arrest warrant for the badguy and a search warrant for the home. The article is too vague to know for sure.

its not the number of guns, they are checking them for illegal ones.
the warrant was drawn up only after the guy tried to get away by going into his house and picking up a loaded pistol and then getting into a fight with cops. the cops were not originally there to look for guns, just another man and stolen farm equipment.
