Default Accidental AK discharge while hunting kills Grandson

Man this guy must be going through hell right about now, supposedly a branch activated the trigger of his AK-47, killing his grandson who was in front of him.

http://www.ksat.com/news/16589436/detail.html

But I do have to ask, who hunts with an AK? Not that there's anything wrong with that but I can think of 100 other rifles that are 10 times more accurate.

Not everyone feels they need a "specialized" firearm to do the job.

Careless is a huge understatement.

Terrible tragedy. Prayers sent.

Edit: The media often gets this wrong. It was probably an SKS....

There are 2 ways a gun fires:

Intentionally or
Negligently.

There is NO SUCH THING as an accidental discharge.

Wasn't the Philadelphia SKS shooting originally reported as an AK also?

lemme get this straight

A branch caught the trigger of his AK-47 hunting rifle... which was pointed DIRECTLY at the person in front of him... involuntary manslaughter minimum.

Exactly what in hell was that rifle ready to go and no safety on for? This should read negligent discharge while hunting kills grandson. Further more what in the blue donkey hell was the muzzle doing pointed at his grandson. People when you're out hunting or just shooting please exercise total firearms safety!!!

That and a bunch of others.

I think knowing that he negligently killed his grandson is punishment enough. If he's lucky, he won't have to live long with that on his conscious. His family must be pissed at him as well. He is probably living in hell as we speak.
