Found the PA Criminal Code Chapter 61 online
http://members.aol.com/StatutesP2/18.Cp.61A.html 6108 would also seem to contradict his position - § 6108. Carrying firearms on public streets or public property in Philadelphia. No person shall carry a firearm, rifle or shotgun at any time upon the public streets or upon any public property in a city of the first class unless: 1. such person is licensed to carry a firearm; or 2. such person is exempt from licensing under section 6106(b) of this title (relating to firearms not to be carried without a license). |

I don't disapprove of his effort, but I wish he would more clearly define the difference between legal and illegal.
First he talks about steps violating civil rights / UFA.... then he talks about changing the law in Harrisburg... then he talks about joining Mayoral retard club. This man is crazy and gun hungery |

Philly... The new LA! They already have strict gun control in Philly. DC has even more. Funny how the crime rate doesn't go down... Hmm. It's the same old thing. Enforce the laws on the books and crime will go down. Outlaw the Politicians!!

This guy is dangerous to to freedom. What he is proposing will sound good to many in Phila.
He has his sights on the Governors office. Wants to dismantle the UFA etc. The GOA and NRA need this PDF forwarded to them so they might rally to oppose him & it. Any people in Phila. who think they will be safer by dis-arming the honest citizen will be in for a suprise when crime & murder actually increases under this guys leadership. Plus he has to fund it, in order to do so that means higer taxes for the people. He also thumbs his nose at the recently signed by G. Bush, H.R. 5013, the “Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act which is not the best but better than nothing which I think prohibits what he is proposing. On & on & on. Everybody needs to email their reps & GOA/NRA for help. And just WTH is "constitutional frisk" & disarm? Anybody have a link that code? Phila. lawmakers need to get slapped down. |

First - great reason to email us. Thank you for flagging the issue as it is critically important. You did an excellent job of giving us the details on how we are (supposed to be anyway) protected by the state laws and constitution, not to mention the US Constitution.
Nutter is a particularly appropriate name but there isn't much value in trying to correct him. He'll change his message in the interest in getting elected, but not his brainless approach. I give him 2.9 seconds - he'll need time to have his brother take over the top job running the airport - to go right back to this attack. We're never going to see the assault on our rights end. Michael Nutter is by far, the most qualified and progressive candidate in the Philadelphia Mayoral race. While I am sure that many of the people on this distribution list are republicans and therefore not able to vote in the democratic primary for Mayor, I wanted to give you my own input regarding your PAFOA Alert regarding Michael Nutter. As a Philadelphia resident, I strongly feel that Nutter's position on other matters in Philadelphia, such as tax reform, campaign reform, and general governmental ethics, greatly outweigh his anti gun stance in Philadelphia. While I agree that his proposed programs infringe on widely accepted gun rights, and are fundamentally conflicted with state and federal law, I believe you are doing a disservice to Philadelphia by criticizing his entire campaign on this one position.
Philadelphia is indeed in an emergent gun violence situation. The blame for this can be levied at many parties, most importantly, the criminals and drug dealers who perpetuate the violence, let alone our current city representatives. Although Nutter has proposed programs that infringe on the gun rights of many Philadelphians, I fear that the broader recipients of this Alert, who do not live in Philadelphia, will unduly support, and donate to, other candidates who will do nothing but perpetuate the culture of violence and mediocrity that has plagued Philadelphia politics for the past 60 years. I also feel that any implementation of the aforementioned gun restrictions would be struck down by city and state courts, therefore rendering the entire "Alert" moot. In summary, Michael Nutter is the city's best hope for economic and cultural redevelopment, and I fervently disagree with your attempt to pigeon hole him as only an anti gun-rights candidate. |

I am new to the PAFOA and to the boards. I would just like to say that, though I do not live in Philadelphia, I think this guy is wrong. I have emailed Lisa Baker and will be wating for a reply. Hopefully this guy doesn't get elected!
