Have at it guys, my server for the month has only had 29mb of transfer out of 300gb.

Just zipped it. Yeah it saved about 200 Mb in space. I'm upping the zip file now. When that is done I'm going to pull the larger file off. and post a new link for the zip.

I hear you danp on the slippery slope phenomenon. No doubt the give an inch, try to take a mile approach would be occur.

And Benningboy.. you're hitting on what I think is a significant perception point.. one that I occasionally fall into. There should not be a distinction with respect to my lawfully owned property. I actually thought about that when Grace said something to the effect of "you would call the police if your car was stolen, wouldn't you?". My immediate thought was, well if I chose not to, I wouldn't get in trouble for it.

That's a big hurdle I see with the "sheeple". Obviously, these folks wouldn't expect to have to report to the police when their ipod disappears, but of COURSE the nasty death machine firearm must be reported to the police or the sky will fall on our heads, and there will be chaos in the streets.
Bold is mine

This hits the hole in their argument right on the head. They want to compare guns to any other object in terms of what makes sense to do: report your car stolen when you learn that it has been. Makes total sense! But there is not law requiring it. I can't get into trouble for not reporting it. If straw purchasers are truly the focus of this law then logic shows we should have a similar law to report cars stolen. After all cars are stolen all the time and there are lots of chop shops that traffic illegal parts all over the country. We need to protect car owners from the bad men who do this.

I can't fathom how they cannot see the flaws in the logic of this law. It makes zero sense.

I love that we defeated that crap.

I mean those laws where pretty well crafted to be able to sneak through most gun owners as "no big deal". That some had to explain to others why these where attacks speaks to how insidious they really where.

Defeating them says loud and clear 'NO, we will not allow you any more! We are not sleeping! We will not fall for it!"

New linkage to the zipped file. It's quite a bit smaller now.

Lost and Stolen guns . . . Tell me again how that would help solve any problem with the criminal element?

We already bar felons and other citizens for specific reasons from possessing a firearm.

We already criminalize buying a gun on someone else's behalf in the form of a straw purchase.

What will one more law, especially this law, accomplish?

Gov. Rendell, Mayor Nutter and Ceasefire PA complain that those laws aren't sufficient to stop crime, or prevent criminals from acquiring firearms. They claim when they discover a firearm used in a crime, the original purchaser often asserts it was lost or stolen. How does this law remedy that situation? Why would a would be gun trafficker not simply claim he failed to notice the gun was stolen, and enjoy that protection under the proposed law?

Since when did a law prevent any sort of behavior? Laws merely punish behavior which society deems unacceptable. If we could pass laws and magically have the crime disappear, we'd have no more murders.

This law is nothing more than a potential weapon to wield against an already-victimized gun owner.

I just watched the program thanks to PisNapalm download ( rep points given)
and wanted to say way to go Kim you stood up for all of us and told the facts which Mr. Grace did not or could not answer.
The fact is criminals who should be in jail and not be on the streets no matter what. Putting more laws will not stop a criminal from obtaining any type of a firearm and using it in a crime.

I couldn’t get through either. Nice question Headcase +1
Excellent job PisnNapalm +1 with zip file

Also if you listen to AG Joe Grace says he doesn’t want to ban gun later, he contradicts himself and admits that what he wants to do. Notice also he claims that CeaseFirePA doesn’t want to ban hunting or sporting firearms and supports PA heritage of hunting (total BS) – A Divide and conquer tactic in action.

What’s the chances of CeaseFirePA endorsing a bill to ban the early release or parole of criminals with a history using firearms in commission of a crime.

Also Joe Grace claims that he would be willing work for Kim Stolfer and pro gun groups don’t hold you breath, all they want is to ban guns, and never hold criminals accountable.

Two questions I would have liked to ask where Anti-gun Joe Grace had I gotten a chance to.

1) What is CeaseFirePA definition of an illegal gun?

Since your group has taken on it’s self to ask all dealers in PA to voluntary stop selling SKS to protect police officers.

2) Is your group also going to start calling all 67 counties District Attorneys and asking to not plea bargain firearm violations cases away into lesser crimes to protect police officers lives?

Many of you had excellent comments in this thread, I will forward some of them over to Kim Stolfer next time I see him.

THANK YOU
