I believe there was an article in the Pocono Record a while back that was titled something like "Welcome to Bronx formally known as the Pocono's"

That's no joke. It may seem "quiet and quaint" to city folk. Just ask any former resident what sh@t hole the Pocono's has become. Truly sad.

PCP how fitting. That place has always been a slum. I remember when the Lopsided INN got shot up. That had to be 10 years ago or more.

The Pocono's are one of the reasons why I got a gun..... With all of the buisnesses that have been robbed this year in my imediate area, there was no way I was going to close down our bar and restaurant at 2am without being protected. I may be dumb sometimes but I sure as hell am not stupid.

"Autopsy fills in a few blanks on body parts found on highway

An autopsy on the remains found Tuesday along Interstates 80 and 380 has shed more light on the woman whose body was butchered and scattered in trash bags along the highway shoulder and median.

Monroe County Deputy Coroner Cindy Skrzypek on Wednesday officially labeled the cause of death homicidal violence. The manner of death is listed simply as homicide.

The woman, who has not been identified, suffered multiple violent injuries, any of which caused her death, according to state police.

While at least eight bags of body parts were found along the two interstates in Monroe and Lackawanna counties, quite a bit of her body is still missing. However, a vague description of the victim is forming.

Skrzypek said it was hard to tell how old the victim was. She was white with dark hair with some gray mixed in. She was about 5-foot-7 and heavyset.

Police say more details about the woman, including a likeness of her face, will be available at a later date.

"It will probably be pretty hard to make an ID," Skrzypek said.

Identifying the victim is a starting point for solving the crime, but in cases like this, it becomes the first stumbling block. For example, in 2002, a man's dismembered body was found in two burn barrels in Jackson Township. Skrzypek said it took nearly a year to identify that victim.

Skrzypek traveled along the interstate with police Tuesday identifying the body parts as they were found at eight locations.

When asked how first responders dealt with the grisly scenes, she said, "We treat the body with just as much respect as if it was a full body. We really try to do this with respect. It was a mentally challenging day."

The search for more bagged body parts continued Wednesday. "We will be continuing (to search) for the next couple of days," state police Lt. Robert Bartal said. "We have a pretty large area."

High winds prevented state police from using a helicopter, but weather permitting, police will fly over today for a better view of the interstate.

A state road worker salting I-380 discovered a bag containing the woman's head at about 9 a.m. Tuesday in the median in Coolbaugh Township.

The highway was closed and traffic was diverted as troopers combed the road shoulders and medians. They found at least eight bags containing body parts along Interstates 80 and 380 from Stroudsburg to Gouldsboro."

The funny thing is, after My wife heard what happened. She told me the first thing she thought of when she heard was that she was glad she has a gun (which she just got about a week ago). I think I am going to start bringing my gun to my restaurant from now on.

Good for your wife (on her outlook and new gun). Self protection is a powerful thing.

What is so bad about APCP? I have lived here for 3 years and I have only heard of a few problems.

I have seen some really bad parts of PCP. I am not saying every one living in PCP is a scum bag believe me, I have worked for several really awsome people that live there. But you know its really nothing special to PCP. Every gated community has problems. Police are not supposed to patrole the Gated community's. So in some respects it can be a safe haven.

Longshot you are correct that it can be a safe heaven for crime. I live in the k section and I know the main sections have had problems. The street I live on is a dead end and we know our neighbors, so we know who should be here and who should not. The big problem is the fact that alot of parents work in NY and don't come home untill late and the kids have no supervision. The other problem is it is a straight run from NY and the drugs can easily be brought in. It is a big community there is over 3000 homes here and the so called security force is not a the police. it takes forever for the PMR police to get here. I do keep my eyes open and I do carry. The only place I had a problem is in East Stroudsburg at the Walmart. Were some clown from NY got pissed at me for pullling in a parking spot.

I heard this on the radio on my way home....absolutely disgusting. Seems like all the scum from NY come down to the poconos...thats why the teachers in the school districts make a good amount of money. I wonder whats going to happen to Mt. Airy now that DeNaples is going to jail
