Default Man Shot By Police in Pittsburgh's North Hills

This happened a stone's throw from me in a nice, quiet area. Just goes to show you never know where the crazies will pop up...

An early-morning ruckus at a McCandless lounge ended hours later with a Hamption police officer fatally shooting a man, authorities said.

The killing happened happened shortly before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Mt. Royal Boulevard and Duncan Avenue, said James Morton, assistant superintendent of Allegheny County Police.

The victim has not been identified. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office plans to perform an autopsy today.

County dispatchers said officers were called to the scene at 1:08 a.m. for reports of shots fired at Bellisario's, a restaurant and bar located at 1710 Duncan Ave.

A man walked into Bellisario's around 1 a.m. and pointed a gun a patrons, said Don Bellisario, owner of the business.

"You put that thing away and get out," Bellisario said a bartender told the man.

The man fired a single shot in the bar area, which did not hit anyone, and then fled, Bellisario said.

County crime scene investigators were still canvassing Bellisario's property this morning.

I knew Vince Barnes since I was 14 years old. He was known on the streets as "Pood". It doesn't surprise me that this happened. He's always had anger issues and didn't like police. here's an updated story:

Perhaps being called "Pood" led to his anger issues?

It actually sounds like pudd as in pudding. I never had to spell it out before. Sorry if it didn't translate correct. Anyway I think his anger issues really took off when his parents got divorced when he was 14 or 15 years old. He was always in and out of trouble since then. His two other older brothers were upset about the divorce but they handled it much better.

20 yd hits while being fired upon. That is fairly impressive. Probably has something to do with being a Firearms Instructor. Getting trigger time is important.

Be safe (and be cool, calm and collected).
