Pelosi was asked last week where in the Constitution authorized the gov to enact a public option for health care. She gave the reporter a shitty, downright MEAN look and with digust said "Are you kiding me?"

That was her response to a legitimate question. Contempt that someone would bring something so radical as the silly Constitution into the argument.

Were you as pissed as I was over that?
Oh you have to look back through my older posts because I have ranted just as much about them (and more so that witch) than you remember.

The one instance you mentioned above I didn't happen to see, but then again last week I was pretty much out of touch with the 'real world' due to work.

Is she an idiot for saying that? Hell yes. But then again I can't remember ANYTHING she has said in public that wasn't one step below "verbal masturbation" ... hell she makes Biden look like a Shakespearian Orator

Glad it's not just me that missed that one .. I'll pass on the link though, just seeing her face (with mouth closed) makes me a tad nauseous.

Substituting "Constitution" for Declaration of Independence is really this big a deal?

Hell, I'm sure I've substituted MUCH worse in conversations. Even knowing full well the difference. It happens. Seriously, DC, if this is the type of thing that makes you type in all caps, while out country is being destroyed by the current band of crooks (both dem and repub) then I think you're seriously distracted by shit that doesn't matter.

I guess I fail to see how this gaff, that could have been a simple unconscious word substitution, is such a big deal. Just seems odd to me with everything going on nowadays that something so meaningless was presented as such a pivotal issue for the repubs as you make it seem.

What, because he correctly quoted one of our founding documents, and accidentally misattributed it? Frankly, I don't care if he said it was from the Tooth Fairy Manifesto, as long as he fervently believes that all men are created equal, and that they are endowed with certain unalienable rights. It was kind of silly for him to realize what he was quoting, but at the end of the day, I just don't care.

I have no faith in my rep as it is, and I don't really care if she would have memorized both the Declaration and the Constitution. She's a loyal foot soldier in Pelosi's Partisans, and consistently votes contrary to my outlook.

I have one question though.....

How many people attending the event knew he goofed and was actually quoting the Declaration of Independence?

That was probably one of the dumbest things I heard in a while. That being said I think the fact that he was speaking at that rally causes me to give him a pass on that one. He is speaking at a rally thats primary goal is to control or reduce the size of government. I think we can all toast that cause regardless of how you would try to achieve it.

Obviously you people are not seeing my point. The Republican party is attempting to 'get their act together', trying to build credibility going into next year's election yet they keep giving ammunition to the liberal press that allows that press to make them look like idiots.

My rant? Why the hell aren't they checking, double checking and doing everything they can to show the American people they do know what they are talking about, that they not only understand the current issues but also the basics of this country.

What I am saying is if the people in and running the Republican party don't start 'reeling in the troops', 'double checking their facts' and most important presenting those facts to the public in a way that the liberal media has NO ABILITY to make things like this the evenings 'talking point' we are going to be looking at a whole lot more problems down the road because the American people are going to start ignoring Republicans completely.

Now am I as mad about a whole lot that is going on right now? FUCK YES ... BUT I am looking to 2010 and hoping beyond hope there's some intelligent people running for the senate and house seats, people that can convey their thoughts, beliefs and intentions well enough that the 'average Joe' will vote them in ... giving the liberal media 'ammunition' like this is just what the party does NOT need.

But at this point I am starting to wonder (as many have mentioned before) that the Republicans may just very well be the next Whig party. My concern with that is there is no viable independent party and not many decent independent candidates ... so where the hell does that leave this country, what happens when there is no one the public will vote for except some 'slick willy' Democrats, what happens when the Majority in the house is 70 + Democratic seats? I'll tell you what will happen ... we are plain and simple fucked.

Um.. guys.. that little pocket constitution that he has in his hands... on page 35, are those exact words.

I know it isnt the Constitution, but it is in that book he was waving around. (I know, got one right here)
