The other factor is that he'll be subject to more scrutiny than ever before. Every little fact of his personal life comes out, and for someone who's been in Hollywood a while, there's probably a lot there.

There are a few things he has in his favor due to his Hollywood exposure, however:

- He has name/face recognition
- He's not camera shy
- He's a good extemporaneous speaker, IMHO more so than ANY of the current candidates.

Mr. Thompson, the Tennessee lawyer turned actor turned US Senator turned actor again, is getting a lot of attention in Republican circles.

Although he only had one term in the US senate, here is some peek into where he stands on issues.

Meh.

I'll stick with Ron Paul.

Do as you like but Ron Paul will be a non-entity by the time the primaries return to Pa. next May. As a matter of fact I would wager that by mid February we will know who the candidates will be on both sides so any Pa. primary will only have a reflection on local races. So glad that our legislature doesn't see any need for us to have a voice in deciding who we want running for President!

Agreed. I never understood why a general election for federal offices is held on the same day throughout the US, but primaries for the same offices aren't.

Well all I can say is I am very happy fred Thompson will run....

He actually has a personality and opinions unlike the rest of the pack. He is not an isolationist nor an imperialist. He clearly recognizes the need for America to maintain its commitments unlike so many in the pack.

He is a true supporter of gun rights. He is actually anti-abortion. He has a brain, character, knowledge and strength. Now go down the list of the other candidates (don't even bother with the democrats) and see if any meet the match. I believe they do not.

Thanks for answering our call, Fred Thompson! We need you!

FRED THOMPSON FOR PRESIDENT. Let's all get behind ONE winning candidate!
