Default Obama's priorities include ignoring Medal of Honor recipients

anyone surprised?
I'm not, and this is a story you wont see headlined on CNN or MSNBC.

First president to ever miss this, and that includes Clinton, who wasn't exactly the military's best friend.

sad. BUT, he did meet with Arab media types yesterday, explaining how HE'S "gonna be a builder, instead of a destroyer, like the previous administrations....."

great. whadda guy. whadda leader.

I'm sure there's a perfectly good explanation...

*snicker*

I'm sure one of the Obamabots will tell us what critical national issue forced him to snub the bravest among us.

*snort*

Surprised? No. Disgusted? Absolutely.

As always, the far left will find some way to spin this one.

From American Legion spokesman Craig Roberts:

The American Legion, as it has on every inauguration evening since 1953, hosted the Salute to Heroes Inaugural Banquet & Ball on January 20th. The quadrennial event is co-sponsored with fourteen veterans service and military service organizations and honors recipients of the Medal of Honor. Forty-seven of these heroes attended this year’s event which was held in the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel.

President Obama was invited but did not attend. Vice-President Joe Biden did appear, however, and was very warmly received. The new President’s absence was understandable considering the unprecedented logistical challenges presented by the vastly increased number of visitors to this inauguration and the necessary attendant security measures. The Vice President was able to join us this evening, and we are thankful he was able to make the time to do so.

Thank you,
Craig Roberts

In other words, the American Legion showed far more grace and dignity than Obama ever could.

They crafted that statement to show their class.

Obama should have made it.

Just as Obama got a large (ahem) portion of the military to vote for him (a demographically similar percentage I'd wager, to that of the professional athlete category), he will do even one worse than turning the military into meals on wheels.

He's gonna turn them against us.

Schoolchildren dont sing the praises of american presidents. Action figures arent made of american presidents. Coins, plates, statue-ettes, playing cards, and asst. other nonsensical paraphinalia, are not made for american presidents BEFORE they even take the oath of office.
Before doing a single thing, he gets songs sung about him. Schoolchildren's choirs singing "Obama" songs, like the little junior Red Army-types have done for decades in communist nations like N Korea, The USSR, and that bastion of free thought for the world, Red China.
It makes me all warm to hear our children sing our glorious leaders praises.

OH, its because of his SKIN COLOR that makes him so wonderful?..............oh, I forgot.

Don't lose sight of what the hell is happening before you're very eyes.
Pay attention, and the crazy stuff that will follow, wont seem like such a shock to you.

we're in for it, bigtime.

I generally think some of the more extremist posts about this type of thing are easilly brushed aside (like the post about the Arabic Media interview), but in this instance I think they have it right. This is an outrage that the shitstain couldn't make it to this event. He has (or should have) known about this event since November 5th and should have planned accordingly.

I don't see anything in that press release other than an organization playing the game of politics.

Naturally the AL is not going to pitch a fit over this, but that doesn't make it cool. Obama should have gone.
