US to attack Iran by end of April: report

The US is planning to attack Iran's nuclear reactors and other nuclear facilities by the end of this month, the Kuwait-based Arab Times newspaper reported Wednesday.

Citing anonymous sources in Washington, it said that various White House departments had started preparing the political speech to be delivered by the US president later this month, announcing the military attack on Iran.

The speech will provide the 'evidence' and the 'justification' for the US to resort to the military option after failing to persuade Tehran to give up its nuclear ambitions, said the report.

According to the Times, one of the justifications expected in the speech is Iran's alleged role in the killing of American soldiers in Iraq by supporting various militias with money and arms.

The US president's speech will also point to Iran's political interference in Iraq, obviously in cooperation with Syria.

The sources were quoted as saying that US will not resort to a ground attack in order to avoid human losses.

Bush couldnt possibly be mentally deficient enough (as if he was in control, hehehe) to start yet another war! Especially with China, India and Russia forming some sort of coalition.

Somehow I get the feeling that an Indian newspaper reporting from a Kuwati newspaper citing an anonymous source about US Military plans may not be the best source of information.

I've actually been hearing about "the end of April" for a good three or four months now.

Not that I have any special contacts, or sources, but everybody seems to be saying the same thing.

Quite franky, I don't know what to believe. A few years ago, I would have said something like this was a complete and utter conspiracy theory. Now, I'm not so sure.

Slightly off-topic here...

Well, the fall of the dollar is still potentially at hand, just by the govt. instead of the banking elite. Look at what Ron Paul has to say on this issue. Not only is the current administration borrowing out the wazoo to finance the current military action (remember, it's not an act of war, as Congress didn't declare such), but they're also putting more currency into circulation as well to ease the need for lending. However, this means the threat of inflation is always knocking at the door, and the end of a currency always starts with inflation.

I love Ron Paul's idea of putting the US Dollar back on a standard. Not only does it harden the currency against inflation, but if the people don't like what the govt. is doing, we can exchange their currency for specie at any time. In other words, it puts the power back in the people's hands, allowing us to tell the govt. "we want an equivalent in gold or silver for our money, because we don't trust your currency anymore".
