    Default Ammunition Accountability Act

    Another e-mail I received today

    Subject: Ammunition Accountability Act

    Ammunition Accountability Act

NOT SURE IF THIS IS UP FOR VOTING IN ALABAMA, DON'T KNOW WHICH STATE
SENATORS SPONSORED THIS, IF ANY, BUT IT BEARS WATCHING.

We need to get the word out.

Gun owners had better TAKE ACTION on this one or you (we) are done for.

    Ammunition Accountability Act

Heads up to all of you who swore to defend the Constitution of the
United States against all enemies, foreign AND domestic.
Let your state Legislatures know that we do not want this bill passed,
and petition them to vote no on this bill. We should keep after them
until the bill is closed by bombarding them with e-mails, phone calls,
    and letters.

Get to all your politicians to get to work and NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!!
The 2008 Legislative session has begun, and the Ammunition
Accountability Act is being introduced across the country. Below is a
list of states where legislation has already been introduced:
Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana,
Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York,
Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

    http://ammunitionaccountability.org/Legislation.htm
Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take your guns? Well, it
seems that his minions and allies in the anti-gun world have no problem
    with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and
Indiana ) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture, a
data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy
and what calibers. Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009
    unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held un-coded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1,
2011. (Including, hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent
tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least
$2.50 or more! If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take
your gun! Please give this the widest distribution possible and contact
    your Reps!

Chances are, the bottom of that original e-mail said some thing to the effect of:

Note, to redistribute an email like that is one of the best way to get the original sender in lots of trouble, Please take the time and get the person's name and e-mail out of there ASAP.

This kind of stuff semi cracks me up. Once you put something on the internet its there forever. If you don't want to get in trouble or don't want it seen or anything else don't put it up. (Or on a computer connected to the internet ever.) This being my thoughts on the original sender and that stupid statement about how it shouldn't be redistributed.

PSST. it was an E-mail, not an internet posting, a letter sent to one person, then to the next.

LM, maybe some one snipped the disclaimer, but generally .gov and .mil always have them, heck most companies have them now

I'm not sure why people think disclaimers on emails hold any weight. A lot of my customers ask me to set them up for them and it's pointless. The only way it would hold weight is if acknowledging and accepting the disclaimer were a prerequisite to receiving the email. There's no case law/precedent that gives these any legitimacy what-so-ever.

They tend to be used by self-important and oft-irresponsible persons to project responsibility for their carelessness onto 3rd parties.

It's no different than shitting into a toilet and having a disclaimer appear at the bottom of the bowl after you've flushed telling you not that corn and peanuts aren't permissible in this toilet.

Pa. DID have a bill for this in the house during the last session. As I have pointed out multiple times that bill died at the end of the last session because it had not been moved out of committee and the House and Senate never voted on it. There are way too many of these emails and threads around that are only good for raising people's blood pressure. If a bill is not approved by both houses by the end of the session then it dies and it would have to be reintroduced in the new session before it could be acted upon. That is the bottom line.
