Yep. No loud, flashy second revolution in sight. Only slow, methodical plucking away at our rights. We can fight them as long as we wish, but eventually, one by one, they'll win their little battles, and we will have succumbed. By that point, anyone who tries to stand up will disappear in the middle of the night.
Hell, it stands as perfectly legal in this country to be taken from your home by a warrant signed by a secret judge, to be tortured, tried in a secret court, where you have no rights, and cannot even view evidence due to the interest of national security. And thats just what they can do to you legally.

You are still of the age that can fight and make a difference.

I'll admit that I've pretty much given up on hoping to reverse the situation in this country.
Before a political shift can take place, there must be a cultural shift. A shift that rejects government intervention in all affairs, that accepts personal responsibility and independence... instead of one that believes certain (or all) rights can be abridged in the interest of enhancing feelings of safety and security. Unfortunately, the way I look at it, this shift only goes one way. Let's face it: independence is hard. When you can't rely on the government to pay you when you get injured and can't work, or make society reflect your moral/religious views, or protect you from the legions of enemies that our unconstitutional government has made around the world, you can no longer lazily sit in front of the television and watch American Idol, eating a bag of McDonald's food while texting friends without a worry in the world. Once people have tasted the easy life, they will not go back to the uncertainty and risk of a free life. They will live in shackles for the sake of comfort. The pioneering spirit in America is dead. The ideals of the Founding Fathers are incompatible with the society of dependence and convenience of today's America. It is not a question of if or how we will turn into the tyrannical nanny state of Europe, but rather how quickly, and which groups will get thrown under the bus. Of course, there's always a chance that the freight train to statism can be slowed, stopped, or turned around. I'll do what I can, but I'm not holding my breath.

..and that pioneering spirit has been diluted in the melting pot.
All I can say is we may find out in the next 3 days to 3 weeks how/if our current plunge transpires. |

Ever since the civil war the federal government has crushed armed rebellion in this country. But as I've said before to get my guns you will have to fight me and you won't have to put a bullet in my back as I'll be facing you. And even though I'll be forgotten I'll RIP knowing I did the right thing. To protect my country

It's hard to act, but easy to react. I'd rather exhaust every possible option before picking up my arms in such a manner. Many of us have fought very hard for the idea that is the United States of America, and many of us will continue to do so with the means at our disposal. I truly hope to never have to do here what I have done there.
I will not turn them over, and I will not foolishly "go out in a blaze of glory". I know exactly what I would try to accomplish if the worst comes to pass. Whatever your plans, I hope you accomplish them as well. |

To blame the hatred of the US on the "unconstitutional government" is simplifying a complex problem to the point of obsurdity.

The US Gov't is giving the US Public EXACTLY what they want. The US Public wants to get paid to do nothing but still feel good about themselves at the end of the day.
They want their children educated without them having to do any of the work They want the gov't to be responsible for their safety so that they don't have to worry about it. They want the gov't to keep those bad people away from us and protect us from harm so we don't have to be inconvenienced by crime or having to protect ourselves from bad men They want the gov't to ensure they are healthy and if they aren't then the gov't should pay to make sure they get better They want the gov't to protect the enviroment by cracking down on big companies so that they can drive 100 miles each way to work and feel good about helping mother earth. Its not the Gov'ts fault... its ours. The gov't does what we want them to do, thats why they keep getting elected.
