Gunman shoots 3 inside Clifton, New Jersey church
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Sunday, November 23rd 2008, 4:44 PM

AP

Clifton police investigate a triple shooting at St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church in Clifton, N.J. on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008.
CLIFTON, N.J. - Three people have been shot, one critically, inside a North Jersey Church.

Some 200 people were attending services inside the Asian-Indian house of worship — St. Thomas Syrian Orthodox Knanaya Church on Third Street in Clifton, Passaic County — when the gunman opened fire before noon Sunday.

Multiple 9-1-1 calls were said to come from inside the church.

A law enforcement official involved in the investigation said the shooting may be a result of domestic violence; the gunman is believed to be the spouse or boyfriend of one of the victims.

The New Jersey State Police and county law enforcement agencies in northern New Jersey are assisting in the hunt for the shooter, who remained at large Sunday afternoon.

One victim is being described as extremely critical. The condition of the other two was not immediately known. All three victims reportedly were being treated at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson.

Members of the church are mostly first generation immigrants and their children from Kerala, India. The church's Web site says the regular Sunday sermon begins at 11:15 a.m.

This is the second one. There was also a shooting at a Seattle mall. This is not going to help firearm owners with a democratic President and congress.

Of course, nobody will draw the obvious conclusion that people are willing victims in states where self-protection is limited to members of law enforcement and the political elite.

New Jersey and Seattle are both right-restrictive.

Anywhere shootings occurr where free, right thinking people are, are limited in duration with the shooter nuetralized quickly.

SHooting people in New Jersey is like fishing in a Koi Pond.

Sigh. It's a horrible thing to happen.. I hope the man is ok..

Also, (and WOW I'm gonna feel like a total grim reaper for saying this)

Maybe everyone should take a minute and think about what they would say to people if they have to use their firearm here in Self Defense (which I hope never EVER has to happen) to the gaggle of reporters..

Something to the effect "Thank God that PA allows lawful people to carry and defend themselves and others"

Yes I feel like crap about being so logically cold.. But I'm just thinking how to make a horrible situation have some small amount of positive effect..

Yep.. I'm going to hell now..

But, but . . . but this CAN'T happen! New Jermany is a gun free zone, how could someone possibly have had a gun? That's illegal!

Look at the top of the "concealed and open carry" forum. It's a sticky

The estranged husband of the woman killed has been arrested in Georgia, and allegedly confessed to the shootings.

That's what I thought. This is obviously a hoax.
