1. Palin isn't a celebrity nor has anyone claimed her to be; however, many of us really admire her integrity and core values. (Can't be said of Obama)
2. She has more experience than Obama. See, as a Governor, you can't just show up and vote "present." (not yes or no) 130 times to skate by.
3. She is running for VP and Obama is running for President.

She also has 14 years serving compared to Obama's 143 days in the Senate.

Sure it will be great if Barr made the Libertatian party a contender, but Palin makes the GOP ticket much stronger IMO. To make the third party a true threat we need to start with the local races. Let's start getting involved and get some damn common sense into government.
This is exactly where I sit. I am fairly involved in helping the GOP but I am no fan of Bush and McCain is only shades better. Palin on the other hand I would actively want as President.

SAME HERE. I would rather we had a 99% voter turnout and inaugurate Obama than to have a 19% turnout and inaugurate McCain. I know who I'm voting for. I've not disguised this fact. But, before I'm Red-vs-Blue, I'm Red-White-And-Blue. We The People participating in the process is exponentially more important to me because, in the long run, that's what's going to fix this country.

I agree, that will be the true story of how good the pick is in terms of pulling independent voters. One one hand, I have read that she is plenty tough to handle herself but on the other hand, I heard that one good strategy is to make Biden look like the bully to appeal to women voters. Personally, I want to see her take him on toe to toe. I don't want to see her back down at all.

From what i've read, she can stand her ground!

I don't know about anyone else, but this pic is looking like a photoshop fake to me. I could be wrong though.

4 years as a city councilmember, then mayor of the same town of 8,000. Govenor in 2006.

I don't know how all of that translates into relevant experience. Realisitcally, she is a Governor for 2 years. Beyond that, it is thin.

She seems to have solid conservative beliefs, so does McCain, so how does she compliment him? What does she add?

The idea the people who support Hillary will jump ship doesn't work either, I don't see how people make that argument, they're two opposite people in almost every way, she isn't an alternative to Hillary at all.

I would also hope that people wouldn't simply vote for McCain because there is a woman on a ticket, just as I hope people wouldn't vote for Obama because McCain has a woman on his ticket.
