OMG. I would totally hit that. I mean that with the most respect possible, but holy cow! I am sure that will be used to show how she is not really a conservative. [Sarcasm]She's really a loose hussy who has lots of babies and raises children to pop out kids too.[/Sarcasm]

So here's the thing. She had a child with Downs. It's funny that some evidence will be tossed away as not true while other non-evidence (left leaning blogs that suggested the baby was her daughter's) will be adhered to with a belief that borders on obsession. What is the big fucking deal? She had a child 4 months ago. I don't know what sort of doctors you went to, but every reputable OB I have ever spoken with and from my experience over the last year (my son is almost 6 months old now so it is real fresh in my mind) the doctor is completely unable to give a difinitave answer to exactly how far along a pregnancy is for a few reasons. First is that a woman can continue to have periods for up to three months after conception. Second children grow at different rates based on health of the mother and health of the child/fetus. Additionally the directionality of the ultrasound can make a child/fetus seem smaller or larger based on the position in the womb. Unless there is a fertility specialist involved it is very likely an "about" timeframe should be used.

Let's also look at the term "about five months" that you seem to take issue with. My son is about six months old. The fact that he is 12 days shy of six months could be a use for the term "about" six months old. Does that mean he's not my son since I don't give a 100% difinitive statement on the age of my son? Give it a break.

Let's break this "Trig is really the daughter's child" conspiracy. We will demand medical records for a child based on pictures of an overweight daughter (OMG she let her kid get fat what an evil bitch who has no right to be VP) from two years ago. Give it a rest.

Let's take a look at the firing. A cop uses a tazer on his 11 year old step-son (whether the step-son asked for it or not <--we could deconstruct that statement made by someone around here all day long) and committed several other crimes (I read that on the crawler last night on CNN as an extension of what he did, but don't have specifics). The governor says fire that trooper. Would it matter who this guy is if he wasn't married to Palin's sister? Nope. We would all be calling for the cop's head. He deserves to be fired over that. I have not seen his actions or crimes refuted at all other than the lame excuse given on this board of the 11 year old asking to be tazed. So the governer says fire him. The Commissioner of Public Safety says "No." He is allowing an clear threat to public safety to remain in uniform. He should be fired also. Can them both! No issue there.

Oh, but she has five children and one of them has special needs. Won't she be too busy to take care of her kids (not directed at you Stealth)? Will she be able to provide a good home for them? Will she be too distracted? That's the shit I am hearing on the news. WTF? Her husband stays home with the kids. How is that even an issue?

I'm not saying Trig is definitely hers or definitely not hers, there isnt enough evidence yet. I actually lean to the it is hers side because of the pictures. I dont know what OB's you have been to, but we were told down to the week how far along the wife was. Oddly enough she had the babies at the time she should have going by the age the doctors gave. As has every other pregnant woman Ive known barring complications. All of our friends have been told down to the week. Do you actually say your son is about 6 months or do you say 6 months?

As far as the state trooper the tazer was also set on test.

Did he do some illegal hunting? Seems like it, but guess what, Palins dad was on that same trip doing the same illegal hunting he was.

From what I read her husband gave up the staying home bit not long after he started. There are even Palin quotes saying she misspoke for Todd by saying he would stay home since they hadnt discussed it. All those kids, running for office, and yet hadnt discussed it?

And her fight against wasteful spending and corruption? Laughable.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin employed a lobbying firm to secure almost $27 million in federal earmarks for a town of 6,700 residents while she was its mayor, according to an analysis by an independent government watchdog group. There was $500,000 for a youth shelter, $1.9 million for a transportation hub, $900,000 for sewer repairs, and $15 million for a rail project -- all intended to benefit Palin's town, Wasilla, located about 45 miles north of Anchorage.
In introducing Palin as his running mate on Friday, Sen. John McCain cast her as a compatriot in his battle against wasteful federal spending. McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, hailed Palin as a politician "with an outstanding reputation for standing up to special interests and entrenched bureaucracies -- someone who has fought against corruption and the failed policies of the past, someone who's stopped government from wasting taxpayers' money."

McCain's crusade against earmarks -- federal spending sought by members of Congress to benefit specific projects -- has been a hallmark of his campaign. He has said earmarks are wasteful and are often inserted into bills with little oversight, sometimes by a single powerful lawmaker.

Palin has also railed against earmarks, touting her opposition to a $223 million bridge in the state as a prime credential for the vice presidential nomination. "As governor, I've stood up to the old politics-as-usual, to the special interests, to the lobbyists, the big oil companies, and the good-ol'-boy network," she said Friday.
As mayor of Wasilla, however, Palin oversaw the hiring of Robertson, Monagle & Eastaugh, an Anchorage-based law firm with close ties to Alaska's most senior Republicans: Rep. Don Young and Sen. Ted Stevens, who was indicted in July on charges of accepting illegal gifts. The Wasilla account was handled by the former chief of staff to Stevens, Steven W. Silver, who is a partner in the firm.
Palin was elected mayor of Wasilla in 1996 on a campaign theme of "a time for change." According to a review of congressional spending by Taxpayers for Common Sense, a nonpartisan watchdog group in Washington, Wasilla did not receive any federal earmarks in the first few years of Palin's tenure.
Senate records show that Silver's firm began working for Palin in early 2000, just as federal money began flowing.
In fiscal 2000, Wasilla received a $1 million earmark, tucked into a transportation appropriations bill, for a rail and bus project in the town. And in the winter of 2000, Palin appeared before congressional appropriations committees to seek earmarks, according to a report in the Anchorage Daily News.
Palin and the Wasilla City Council increased Silver's fee from $24,000 to $36,000 a year by 2001, Senate records show.
Soon after, the city benefited from additional earmarks: $500,000 for a mental health center, $500,000 for the purchase of federal land and $450,000 to rehabilitate an agricultural processing facility. Then there was the $15 million rail project, intended to connect Wasilla with the town of Girdwood, where Stevens has a house.
The Washington trip is now an annual event for Wasilla officials.
In fiscal year 2002, Wasilla took in $6.1 million in earmarks -- about $1,000 in federal money for every resident. By contrast, Boise, Idaho -- which has more than 190,000 residents -- received $6.9 million in earmarks in fiscal 2008.

Well as least we know with Barack Obama's sketchy past about when and where he was born, his camp probably won't choose to make an issue of this (although I'm sure some "unauthorized" attacks will still be launched). After all, his mother was an unwed 17 year old when she became pregnant by a student 7 years her senior who had a wife back in Kenya. It would be political suicide to make a stink about the VP nominee's child under those circumstances.

I have become a dirty old man, signs
Several years ago lusting after the kids teachers

Now lusting after the next V.P.
Look what politics has caused.

Sounds like a perfectly natural progression. If you added Barbara Bush to the list (either one), then I'd be worried.

I say my son is about six months old since he is not yet six months. When he is just over six months I will also say he is about six months since he will not be exactly six month anymore. Pretty simple. It's funny that you say your children were born right when the due date was. Funny because every OB nurse in the maternity ward laughed about the due date since fewer than 10% of children are born on their due date. My wife went almost 10 days late. Does that mean the kid was late or just that they estimated the date of conception incorrectly. Since it is not possible to pinpoint the moment of conception except in very rare instances it is nothing more than an estimation.

Tazer set to test? WTF is that about? Does that really matter? That would be like saying I pointed a gun at him and pulled the trigger, but it was supposed to be empty/only have blanks. Stupid argument. It should not have happened.

So as mayor she is now being vilified because she secured funding for a youth shelter, for a transportation hub (think about how one would get to medical professionals in rural AK), hevean forbid for sewer repairs, and even for a rail project. Let me get this straight. She secured funding, created new jobs, improved her town, all while improving the budget. Lets see also from what I can tell the article only has $7.1 million actually cited ($1 million in 2000 and $6.1 million in 2002) not the $27 milllion mentioned. So it looks to me from what is laid out in the article over four years there were $3.55 million in earmarks per year of that time period (2000-2002). Now without reading all of the bills with the earmarks I can't say what kind of oversight was written into the bills, but I would also wonder if maybe these were tied into a larger network of earmarks being used specific projects (like transportation) statewide.

One other note. It's pretty funny that the article tries to tie Palin into the corruption of senator (Ted Stevens) because they both employed the same third party vendor. I guess with that logic there are PLENTY of people who have had contracts with the same vendor as criminals. Let's tar and feather all of them with loose (not even real) connections to criminals.
