I don't see how people make that argument, they're two opposite people in almost every way, she isn't an alternative to Hillary at all.

I would also hope that people wouldn't simply vote for McCain because there is a woman on a ticket,
Sadly, you underestimate how shallow most people are.

No, she was in fact featured in Vogue Magazine for a photo shoot. Though I agree, the shadow between her head and neck makes it look a lot like a photoshop.

If its a fashion magazine its definitely a photoshop. They all touch up photos and in some instances have even put one celebrities head on anothers body.

Yes most of them will vote for someone based solely on the letter next to their name.

The scandal began on July 11, when Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan was fired from his post with little explanation, a move that quickly raised questions in Alaska.

A few days later, Monegan came forward, stating that he had been pressured by those around Palin to fire Wooten -- but had refused to do so -- a choice that he believes led to his sudden dismissal. Palin denied Monegan's accusations, and a Legislative Council has appointed a special commission to probe the matter.

That sums it up for me too, I just wasn't excited about McCain, Obama was pushing me to get off my but and vote McCain, but this could have been the 1st time I wasn't going to vote for President, not anymore. This is a real shakeup and I think the Dems don't know how to proceed.

She has between a 65 to 80 percent approval rating in Alaska. She isn't called Sarah the Barracuda for nothing. She has been on the war path up there taking down the corrupt good old boy network in the Republican party. Yep NRA, pure conservative my type of girl.
They just reported that when her husband called her parents at 4:30 AM to tell them about her selection as the Republican VP nominee they were out on their ATV's hunting caribou.

Aside from all the valid reason's she's a great choice, the dems will have to come up with another photo-op strategy too now that Michelle O. isn't the only pretty face in crowd.

Ain't NOTHING wrong with that. We could use some more pretty faces in politics. These shriveled faces we have now, male and female, rep and dem, are getting tiresome to look at!

I'm starting to wonder if McCains choice of VP is part of another strategy. Given her current situation with the state probe for misconduct which I'm sure McCain and all his advisors already knew about, what are the chances he will keep her thru the whole election? What if the real strategy is to spring a diff VP candidate on the Dems 'at the last minute' when he has to drop her?

I could not be happier with this decision. I think Gov. Palin is going to be just what McCain's campaign needs to stimulate voters.
