SAN JOSE - Rep. Mike Honda, D-San Jose, today announced legislation that would block civilians from accessing military-grade body armor to prevent criminals from using them in gun battles with law enforcement.
Honda, speaking at a news conference in San Jose this morning with police chiefs and the district attorneys and sheriffs from Santa Clara and Alameda counties, said his proposal would discourage criminals from wearing enhanced body armor to commit mass shootings.
"This bill will keep military body armor out of the wrong hands," Honda said. "It would ensure that only law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders would be able to access enhanced body armor."Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Bill to prohibit civillian ownership of .mil armor
If only criminals wear body armor, then why do they issue it to soldiers?
Seems sort of insulting to our fighting men....
Every time the elite try to disarm us, or outlaw body armor, it feels just like when a kidnapper orders you to get into the van at gunpoint. You know that he wants to make you more helpless, you know that he plans to do terrible things to you if you get into the van. So it's best not to get into the van, and make your stand on the sidewalk or in the parking lot, when it begins.
They should call this bill the "If we decide to shoot you then you'll damned well bleed and die" law.Attorney Phil Kline, AKA gunlawyer001@gmail.com

Re: Bill to prohibit civillian ownership of .mil armor
OK I lived in San Jose for a while before I got my happy ass back to a real state here in pa. There is literally no threat that I have ever witnessed in San Jose that suggested this was ever a concern. That being said this moron does realize that the term criminal and law are pretty much polar opposite. I read this as the city making sure law abiding citizens are easier to suppress this way. Oh and on a side note I didn't know that Honda got into the douche production business.

So they are going to ban AR plate and kevlar cloth then? Yeah I am sure the US industry that uses it daily basis will just be thrilled with that. What about those ballistic plates for in childs back packs? "If we could save just one child"
The next time Honda has a thought.......Just let it go.Last edited by dkf; August 8th, 2014 at 10:38 PM.

if you could get thicker/flexible material most industrial safety glasses are made of you'd be 100% bulletproof.
or duct tape 200-300 pairs of glasses together.a slow death awaits you,but not before love reminds you that there is good in you

When only the military and police have access to arms, ammunition or armor you live in a police state.
