On April 23rd Bill Clinton will headline an event for Americans for Responsible Solutions – the gun control group founded by Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly.

The event is a fundraiser being held at the home of "real estate mogul Bill Rudin" in New York City.

According to Politico, Giffords "appeared with the Clinton family in recent weeks at a Clinton Global Initiative University community service event Arizona."

Now Clinton is taking part in an event for Giffords's gun control group, which supports the "expanded background checks that failed in the Senate last year."

Clinton supports greater gun control but has also warned Democrats that supporting gun control could "[antagonize] people entrenched in the gun culture."

This is all about money. Generate more controversy over an issue, and get more donations for the Giffords. Clinton gets a big speaking fee, and the Giffords get a higher compensation as they are probably paid a salary plus a percentage of donations.

Yet with this comment Clinton showed he has more common sense on this matter than vast majority of antis. He's from Arkansas, in the end.

I have few female colleagues from Arkansas. One of them was complaining about her neighbor, who happens to be an abusive husband, so his wife took shelter at my colleague's home couple of times. I suggested, that she might consider buying a gun, just in case. Her answer was: "I'm a single mother. Of course I awn a gun!"

I dream of a Giffords recovering from a gunshot to the head, when able, giving a speech saying, "The person who shot me and the others near me committed a criminal act and is responsible for that act. I do not want millions of innocent people persecuted for what that person did".

Mrs.K spent 10 years in Oklahoma raising her boys. When she would take them camping one of the most common questions would be "what kind of gun are you taking?" (not 'are you taking one', but 'what kind') Having young, energetic, inquisitive children her response was "none." They would say "nobody in their right mind would go out in OK without a gun." Her reply was "yes, and every criminal knows that." It's a different world out there.

Of course, her response today would be either "None of your business" or showing them her S&W Shield 9mm.

This is all about the keeping the Senate, they are doing the opposite of what were doing. Instead of saying were going to vote out all the anti gun politicians
they are saying were going to vote out those pro gun NRA Republicans red necks and "Tea baggers" they have unlimited money from Bloomberg and the full power of the Federal gov. on their side. That and calling us all "domestic terrorist
