OK, here we go. I'm not a life-long Republican. But I switched over from Democrat after the Jimmy Carter debacle so I feel like a Reagan Republican; that's someone who believes he didn't leave the Democrat party...the Democrat party left him. And, yes, I was an independent for a short time after that before I realized that a 3-party system was a losing proposition in this country. If you ask me I think that the Republican party is getting what it deserves, and it pains me to admit it. The Democratic party of JFK and Harry Truman was hijacked by the leftist whackos back in the 60's and will never be the same. And now the honorable people on the right side of the aisle are looking a lot like them. If McCain is the best we can do then God help us. When others say they are voting for him because he's the least of 3 evils so be it because I may do the same just to avert an Obama mess. My gravest concern over an Obama or Clinton presidency is the effect it will have on the Supreme Court. We're only a coupl eof appointments away from revisionist, activist judges that will interpret the Constitution according to their whims. Imagine a United States like this!

Their is absolutly no contest here.

Vote republican across the board. if the dems get keep the house and senate and the white house plan on full blown registration/gun bans/ mag bans/ license to reload/ no sunset on AWB. Any semi with a det box mag is an AW. Possibly a ban on gun powder to reload cause of the terrprist threats ( remember the bills to put taggants in the powder).

Just look at the clinton years and see what they wanted to do after they got their brady act. Look how that is a pain in the ass now. NICS was down on 911 you couldnt buy a gun.

I am not in favor of the republicans now and what they have done but they are a your best friend compared to the ultra left wing dems that are running.

Dont forget the arsenal license. anything over 1000 rounds or 20 guns. 2 bricks of 22 LR made you have a arsenal. Primers were included in that. I box of small rifle primers calssified you as an arsenal. Dont forget the hike in FFL license from 15 a year to 1000 a year.

You guys might be to young to remember but people who lived through it will not forget. What Philly is doing with the constant introduction of anti gun bills thats how it was on the federal level. Everyday a new bill introduced. They will pass a few very bad laws if they get the white house.

REPUBLICAN ACROSS THE BOARD> SORRY TO SAY ITS A MUST

Ron Paul, while he may be 2A friendly, doesn't stand a snowball's chance.

Barak Bin Osama (yeah, I know, childish name calling) is a bad choice. Nowhere near enough experience. He'll revert to his early training, and his Minister will be replaced by his Imam. No, I do not trust a wolf in sheep's clothing. If he gets the nomination, lots of Jews I know (I am Jewish, BTW) will be really torn. Vote for a Republican or a Muslim?

Hillary- less experience than Osama, plus will promise you the moon but fail to deliver. She'll press her agenda wherever she can, which (I believe) will include pressing to further whittle our 2A rights down.

Like him or not, Mc Cain is the best bet out there (IM not so HO).

I'm no political genius. Hell, I voted for Ross Perot and threw that vote away. A vote for an independant will just take a vote from Mc Cain. To me, the choice is clear.

Sorry if anyone takes this as an attack, but I'm truly worried about the direction in which this country is headed.

PAFOA PROUD!
I agree with you 100 %.
We all know what we will get with Hillary - high capacity magazine bans."black rifle" restrictions,or a complete ban, etc, etc.
During the Clinton years, donations to the NRA-ILA and NRA-PVF cost me about $200 a year, just to get someone to effectively fight for my 2nd Amendment rights.
What I've read about Obama's past votes and comments on guns, indicate that he is as bad or worse than the Clintons. Recall his comment to the San Francisco elites about us small town Pennsylvanians being bitter and clinging to our guns and religion! I haven't heard him make any comments about the home-boys in Pittsburgh and Philly, who shoot 5-10 people down every day.
I sure ain't in love with McCain but he is the best hope we have,if we want to maintain our 2nd Amendment rights.
The 2nd Amendment ain't about duck hunting,it's our best defense against an oppressive government. If we lose it,the 1st amendment will be next to go.
Remember, there are likely going to be some Supreme Court appointments coming up in the next 4 years.
As far as the economy, the Democrats have been in control of Congress for 2 years now and Congress sure can influence the economy more than the president can.
All three of them are soft on illegal immigrants because they are pandering for the vote.None of them has the brains to call for outlawing futures trading on oil, corn, etc. The greedy speculators on Wall Street have caused the big jump in oil and gas prices. The stupid ethanol mandate has also created the big jump in corn futures and the farmers are diverting acreage from wheat, soybeans, and other crops because a bushel of corn is now worth $6.00 instead of $2.00 like it has been for 10 years.
As far as the subprime mortgage mess,Congress pushed for years for banks and mortgage brokers to make mortgages available for the poor people who couldn't qualify or come up with a small down payment.Well ,they got what they wanted and caused a boom in houses. The prices almost doubled in some markets and there were a lot of speculators who bought 2nd and 3rd houses for no down payment. They planned on reselling quickly and making a big profit.
Have you heard any of the candidates commenting other than the rest of us taxpayers should bail these people out.
We better vote for McCain so we can keep our guns ! He is the only who has said that the United Nations can go fly a kite when they talk about disarming citizens in all member countries.
I have a feeling that we will be needing them in a few years.
Ron
PS - BTW,I've been a Democrat all my life.

You guys are foolish to think that McCain will be any "better" than Hillary or Obama. He's a double-talking, left-leaning, globalist, pig in the back pocket of lobbyists, special interest groups, and exclusive organizations just like the other two. And what you fail to remember is McCain-Lieberman which would have essentially ended gun shows. (any guess as to how he will vote for this "amnesty bill"?)

Sorry, but voting for the lesser of the two/three evils is like choosing between getting shot in the right vs. the left temple. Blind allegiance to the GOP over one issue demonstrates approval of the GOP's nomination. John Quincy Adams said it better than I ever could "Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost."

I hope the Republicans lose. I hope guns get banned. I hope we fall into a depression. I hope the North American Union becomes reality. Maybe it is then that people will realize that our current crises surpass partisanship. Maybe it is then that people will realize that it is their duty to stop being passive, complacent, and apathetic. Maybe it is then that people will rise up against political corruption and hold them accountable for their egregious abuses of power. Enough is enough already.

You have to understand that 2nd Amendment rights are far more than a single issue. This is not a debate over supply side or demand side economics or ethical issues like Rowe vs. Wade. 2nd Amendment is a principle far more valuable because when one gets twisted and spun around on behalf of partisan agenda and logical defiance, you may as well piss on the rest of them.

Don't be so critical on lobbyists either. I hate to tell you this but lobbyists are a representation of the voice of many. We are no different as we collectively support the NRA to be our gorilla on the hill. Just because politicians listen to lobbyists, doesn't mean they are corrupt or evil, it means they are hearing the voice of a large group of people. Some may believe that a candidate is to come with a set of principles and they are gold to follow, I argue that in a Federal Republic (we are NOT a democracy) representatives are supposed to listen to the people so if that means we, the people send in millions to buy our voice, so be it. We can't expect a representative to read a million letters or e-mails.

Sorry, I'm not buying into the doom and gloom scenario. History shows that this country changes and adapts when necessary. We are slow at it, but we will get by. If not, I'm prepared.
