I really can't believe this kind of idea is what drives some people's decision on whom to vote for. This country is doomed!

Morality of some sort is the basis for all law. Morality must have a basis to stem from, or there would be chaos. Where is the basis for the morality that has inspired the law of the United States, before that the Colonies of the New World, and even the Mayflower and the settlement under William Bradford?
Answer: Christianity.
When did it become so appalling to so many here in this country for a Man to want to lead with morality based on Judeo-Christian values? It's what we are as a Nation. Read Patrick Henry's speech (the Liberty or Death one). Then tell me God did not influence freedom.
Let me clue you gentlemen that bash Santorum for being open about his faith and what it means to his views on the solcial issues in on something... He's our only choice if you want to protect your freedoms.
Ron Paul? Love the guy. No way in Hell he's getting elected. It'll never happen folks. I wish the guy were running our country, but I am a realist. By the way, he's a Christian too. He agrees with Santorum on social views, he just has the common sense and knowledge of the constitution to speak the truth about what the federal government has no business in.
Romney? He was Governor of Massachusetts and claims to be a conservative. Really? I was born at night time, but it wasn't last night. This guy is a politician's politician and extremely wealthy. Guys like that would sell their own grandmothers and he scares me as much as Barry Soetoro.
Newt? Not electable. The only thing that matters is that the democrats will make him out to be the biggest lying cheating slime ball politician we've seen in years. Obama will beat him. Sorry Newt; I love your ability to debate, but you don't stand a chance.
Santorum. He's all we have to beat Obama. Can he win? I think so, but he won't unless we see him for what he has the potential to be... He won't if we don't rally around the guy.

There will never be a candidate whose beliefs and ideals and platform is in lock-step with all of us. There are too many diverse perspectives in the populace. So, we must decide who can lead our country on the correct course to restore it to what it was when it was at its greatest, even if we disagree with some of his/her ideas.
If you look at the most prosperous and fair civilizations throughout the history of the world, I believe the first 200 years of America would rank among the highest if not the absolute highest.
If that is true, then continuing on the current path is worse than going back to the previous course.
I believe TwistedCopper explained why we were once great. If we don't return to those values now, it will never be possible.
God help us!
