Default Hillary... health care...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans. The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

So if I read this right... People who for whatever reason don't have or can't afford healthcare would have their wages taken to pay for it. A family who already might have to choose between food or healthcare won't get that choice or food for that matter.

How farked up is this?

I know there's no way in hell she'd ever get it passed through Congress but still.... The idea is absurd to the point of being... un-American? We're gonna take your money and force you to have this healthcare whether you want it or not. WTF?

Unbelievable. Actually it is believable.

Then again, they (Hillary et al) made considerable inroads into the American psyche that we should have a "Right to health care" in this country. Maybe what we can expect from a President Hillary Clinton admin is a civil rights health care initiative in the form of an 11th Amendment to the Bill of Rights?

Good grief.

This is really not a bad idea. You see, most of us are so stupid, that we don't know what to do with our money. I'm glad there are those, like Hillary Clinton, who are superior beings than us, and can take charge of the product of our labor and make the right decisions for us.

Seriously though, this makes me sick.

Is a percentage of the country SO dumbed down by the Socialist Indoctrination Centers (ie: Public School) that they can't see this for what it is??

I shudder to think what the country would look like in 10 years, if these people get a hold of the reins of power.

I think people have a right to health care. This means that it is wrong for the gov't to abridge that right, such as by preventing terminally ill patients from buying risky experimental drugs. (Risky compared to certain death?!)

If the right to health care were to mean that the gov't should actively provide that health care, then the right to keep arms would mean that the gov't should provide everyone with an AR-15. Clearly, having a right to X does not mean the the gov't should provide X.

Wow, just another flavor of the week from wonderful Hillary. Just gives you another taste of what we are in for if she ever makes it into office.

Yep, this is pretty terrifying. If the government can mandate enrollment in something like this, there is nothing stopping them from mandating other things. Completely different philosophy than what most people on these forums believe, but it still surprises me that Hillary polls so high. How can anyone in their right mind support Hillary Clinton. I get a headache thinking about it.

Socialized medicine is one of the things that scares me most about Hillary. She tried pushing this through when Bill was in office, and if she gets elected will likely try it again.

Are you sure about that?

paying for healthcare doesn't make sense for a lot of folks. If you are young and healthy why should you pay hundreds of bucks a month for nothing? You already have car insurance and home insurance, what else do you really need? Workers comp.

I spend pretty much all my time in the car, or at a house or at work.. How many insurances do I need?
