Angry Re: New CCW in Monroe

Still stuck with no references Monroe County, so no CCW. I really don't want to go the legal hassle route, and haven't made time to contact my state representative.

Dude it's only 2 refs. Nobody is sticking their necks out by signing.
I signed for numerous people in Monroe. I was never even contacted.

Anyone who lives in Monroe lend a signature to the guy. Help out a new guy.

BTW
After you get your permit contact the AG.

The "within Monroe County" thing is sticky... do they care what info is on the card? I'd be willing to fill it out for you but I'm not going to lie on the card...

I just recently applied for the CCW in Monroe also. The 2 references in the county got me for a bit too since I just moved here. Was able to eventually get them but am still waiting to get the permit. Hopefully in the next few days it will be approved (its been almost a month). From what I understand this is one of the more strict areas...other counties I've heard of people walking in and out of the office with their permit (ie. Lackawana).

WELCOME
You guys will most likely not hear from the sheriff's office until close to the 45 days are up. Most permits in Monroe take the full 45 days. I know one guy who got his in three weeks, but mine took 52 days. Have your refs told you they got their cards? Did they send them back immediately? I've noticed that it is usually three to four weeks after they have been sent in. The wife put hers in on April 2nd, refs went back two weeks ago, so we expect the pick up letter in about two weeks.

ETA~ Luis and mferris, just to save you some grief, a CCW is a concealed carry weapon. A CCP is a concealed carry permit. What is issued in Pennsylvania is a LTCF, license to carry firearms. There are a great many things that are legal in Pa. that most people take for granted are illegal. Your LTCF allows you to carry concealed, it does not demand that you do so. You do not have to worry about your weapon printing when you conceal, because you have no obligation to keep it concealed. I strongly suggest that you go to the Concealed and Open carry forum and stickied at the top are threads for both http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...nsylvania.html and http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...carry-you.html. Print the flyer and keep a few handy. Read it through a few times. It has a great deal of mythbusting information inside.

Default Re: New LTC in Monroe

Thanks for the info! I know one of my references mailed theirs in 2 weeks ago and my other mailed it in around the same time but got it back because they forgot to sign it. So that might set it back a bit I suppose. That's ok though...I don't mind waiting.

Gentlemen,
Does anyone know what other states recognize Pa's LTCF?
