Default Info about where I can store a handgun?

Hello! If anyone can give me a answer to this question it would be most appreciated.

I am new to all guns in general, but have taken an interest as of late and I am considering purchasing a 357 wheelgun for my first. I've been checking out the forums and many members say that these are great firsts, with the ability to load the 38 ammo. My primary use would be for target practice as a hobby. I've lived up in Tobyhanna for about the last 12 years, so I know there are quite a few ranges around. I am an older college student, still live at home with my parents til school's done, and I have 5 siblings between 6 and 14. I know there many safety features for guns w/ locking cases, but I dont think my parents would want one in the house either way - so is there a way to store a gun outside of the home legally? And if so where? If not I will have to put this off until I move out...

Welcome to the site....

I say get on of these and put it under your bed. If doubt they would even find it, I think your parents are out of the looking through your crap phase...lol If they even ask what it is tell them you have some documents or whatever in there, its not like they are going to get into it unless they take you hostage and waterboard you into giving them the key or chop off your hand.

+1. Under the bed or in your skivvies drawer, unless you have reason to think someone will be digging through it. They also have a biometric version that reads your fingerprint for access instead of needing a combo.

It costs quite a bit more and probably wouldn't be much of an advantage for your short term situation, but as a nightstand safe for home defense (when you're eventually in your own home) I think it's worth the extra cost not having to fumble with combos or keys.

Depends on the county. If no one answers within a day or two you can do a site search for your county and might get a hit from a post that tells you what to expect for Monroe.

You may also want to consider a revolver with a lock built into it. Taurus makes one. Just a thought.

Your LTCF should take about 40 days in Monroe. A combo/lock safe is your best bet. The only place I know of to store your guns outside of your home is my house

It took my friend and I 43 days to receive our LTCF in Monroe Clownty. I know of others who received theirs in under 3 weeks. It depends who you know, if you know nobody in the court house, you will wait around 40 days.
