Question Might be moving to PA. Where to live?

I may finally be leaving NJ. If I were to move to PA, it'd be outside of Philly. I am thinking KIng of Prussia area, but would like to know what other areas I should be looking at.

I want to be no more than a few minutes from major stores like Wal Mart and a supermarket.

this all depends on your price range, renting, buying? would you be commuting to NJ if so how long of a commute would you be willing to do?

I'd be selling my house here & going back to renting for a bit. No more than a 45 minute or so commute regardless of where it is.

Renting a house or APT?

If an APT, King of Prussia has plenty to choose from, and there are different areas within K of P, too. Need to look on the 202 corridor, and then branch east/west off 202. Same for housing, I'd expect K of P to have a pretty decent inventory of houses to rent.

Want to go a little pricier? Then I'd look towards the back side of Bryn Mawr and Ardmore for houses or apartments, (apartments on route 30 and Montgomery Avenue, houses all around) but figure a 25-30% premium to rent there. All nice towns, all within 20 minutes of the Wal Mart and about 2 minutes from multiple food stores. All have easy access to the Blue Route (476), 202 and the Schuylkill Expressway.

Radnor has some apartments in the central and west end of the township.

Could also look at renting in Chesterbrook, which is right off 202 a little south of King of Prussia.

Lots of places to go, plenty of places to shop.

good hunting.

I'd prefer to rent a house, but I'll probably end up in an apt for now.

Plenty of not real expensive houses to rent in K of P. Look right along 202 across the highway from he mall. There's a nice little neighborhood sandwiched in between 202 and Bll Smith blvd that often has rentals.

Also, in Ardmore there are several neighborhoods of twin houses that run one or two blocks north and south of Haverford Avenue (also called County Line Road I think) that often have rentals.

If you want to rent a house, a local realtor would probably be able to help. they don't usually get involved in apartments, but might know of homes for rent.

Try Long and Foster, they're a good regional (NE US) realtor that I have some experience with.

This would be a prefect area for you I think. Keeps you close to the KOP Mall and right down the road from King Shooter, the greatest gunshop in the land!
Seriously though, I live in Radnor and there are a number of houses for rent, although probably pretty expensive. I would consider a condo, best of both worlds. Chesterbrook would have a ton of condos. My dad owns a one bedroom condo right in Wayne that a long-time tenant just left. He's modernizing it as we speak. If you want any more info or more specific help in general let me know!

Are they on the main drag? I'm not looking to live on a main road/highway
