My crappy Romanian (well, my buddies actually, which he has left in my care) runs just fine. I kinda like crappy AK's... Maybe it's like liking the GI type 1911's, I dunno. As for stocks...I'm thinking about getting a thin "grind to fit" rubber recoil pad for shotguns/ rifle, and fitting that on the AK. It'll bring out my LOP a little bit (which is good for me), keep the rifle from slipping around on my shoulder, and smooth out felt recoil a touch. Something around 1/4" thick would do all of the above. I know 7.62x39mm and 5.556mm have "no recoil" but if you shoot a conventional M4 stock all day, then a CTR or Vltor with their thin rubber pads on them...you can feel/ appreciate the improvement.

I would be VERY interested in doing this pretty much anytime. With a reasonable amount of notice I can be free for sure!

My Yugo and I would love to make the trip down. Let me know what I can do to help. If anyone from the northeast needs a ride down I'd be happy to oblige.

Depending on the scheduled day, I'm down.
Don't have an AK, though.

Me too me too. I love my AK (underfolder of course
) and would love to learn more about it, how to shoot it and how to handle it. You can never learn to much about anything.

Synergy and d90king,
I'm not questioning your qualifications at all, just curious as to whether you guys are AK enthusiasts sharing your knowledge or professional instructors? I have read through a lot of your posts, both obviously very knowledgable and willing to help others (and have a lot of nice toys too!). Either way, I'm in!!!
