Moving to Allentown area and need some info

Hi there,

I'm moving from the west to the east and was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on what areas to look for an apartment in. I know absolutely nothing about Allentown except it was the subject of a song. I'll be working in Whitehall Township off rt145.

I know there is at least one range near there. I was near a granite quarry and could rifle shots off in the distance.

Any suggestions are welcome. I need to find a place by the end of October. Not a lot of time.

Try Whitehall, Copley, Northampton, Egypt but stay out of downtown Allentown. Look online in

Check Coopersburg and Quakertown for apartments, too.

There are a number of apartment complexes in the Trexlertown area as well as a great number of inexpensive clubs to join. 40-50 first year then 20-30 renewals.Let me know if you want a list There are brand new townhouse rentals all around the lower macungie area and in macungie.

Look in Whitehall, LOTS around there (or used to be). There is an outstanding apartment complex right off 22 and 378 called The Landing, but its pricey. figure at least 800 for rent

Yeah, but not until they get the road in Coopersburg done!

To the OP, if you end up on the western end of the valley, you can come shooting at Guthsville with such characters as Mikey, /dev/null, sbaker, and myself. And, on rare occasions, spabula shows up. And on even RARER occasions, we get DC Dalton and Tootie down to shoot. One of these days, if we can get them out of their hot tub, they might even join!

I heard Center City Allentown was on the bad side?

We would like to be towards the country a little. Trying to find a house to rent as our little family is 2 cats and 2 dogs. Not exactly apartment friendly.

And I will definitely take up the invite once we are out there and setteled. I have been to the range since December!!

You go to Guthsville? Go figure, me too. I like that there's never many people there. I've never had to wait for a range.

Look for a kid sighting in a Savage 99 close to the start of deer season.

To the OP: Yea I'd stay out of center city for sure. But there are some nice places around Atown. I grew up in Salisbury Township, no complaints. Since you're gonna be north of the city I'd definately go with what others have suggested and try to stay north of Allentown. Coplay, Northampton, Catasauqua, Egypt, and Whitehall are all places to consider.

Sandbrook appartments on 378 are close enough to the hussle and bussle, but out of the way. They accept pets as well.
