Default Gunbroker FFL?

Anybody ever buy a gun off of Gunbroker and know of a local FFL that would accept the shipment? Do they charge you a fee?

Preferably in Harrisburg / Lancaster / York / Carlisle area.

Trops?

Any ffl will probably do it for you. Yes there will be a fee and you need to do a pics check. It's just like buying from the local dealer. The gunbroker seller will requiire a copy of the local guy's ffl.

Default Re: Gunbroker FFL?

There is a specific list of FFLs already accepted by Gunbrokers.

I have bought a few from that site and have had all my guns shipped to a gun store down the road. Yes, they all charge for the transfer of these guns. Some more than others. You have to distinguish which are taking advantage of you or just trying to make ends meet.

My dealer charges me 35 dollars per transaction. It is a little steep but they are very close, cordial and I save in time and gasoline by using them.

Choose the item you wish to bid on, if you win, scroll to the section near the bottom of the page for a list of dealers on Gun broker's ffl list. Once you choose a local guy, contact him with your name and the name and email address of the selling ffl. The local guy must submit his ffl numbers and address to the seller to receive your purchase.

Most ffls use fax to transmit these details and can be completed fast and without fuss.

One word of caution. When buying something as costly as a handgun, using the internet, check your purchase completely before filling out the paperwork. Disassemble the gun and inspect it carefully when it arrives at the local ffl. If there is anything wrong with the weapon or not what you ordered, do not accept it. Tell the local guy to send it back, notify the seller why you are refusing the item, then contact your credit card company for a refund. Taking it home with you is an admission of acceptance.

Try this list of ffl's accredited by Gunbroker:

http://www.gunbroker.com/User/FFLByState.asp
The list provided by GunBroker.com does not imply that these dealers are either "endorsed" or "accredited" by GunBroker itself. They are simply dealers that have indicated they are willing to accept incoming shipments, and process the transactions for the buyers (not all FFLs will do this).

There is no guarantee that you will receive a particular level of service simply because the FFL name was listed on the GunBroker site.

Yes I've bought a shotgun off of gunbroker, i had it shipped to trop gun shop in elizabethtown. The fee was about $60.00 with a background check included. i would check around maybe try backwoods outfitters in Columbia. Just state that your buying and gun and need a FFL to have it shipped. When you buy a gun they will ask for the FFL info. so once you verify with the local dealer either they can contact the dealer or you can get the info. Either way they wanted a faxed copy of the reciving FFL's papers to make sure it was legit.

I've heard of FFL's charging $15. Most charge $25. - $35. Some charge $50. which I consider too high.

$60 is an out and out rip-off.

My last transfer was done @ Shyda's in Lebanon for $35.

Yes and yes to your questions. I got the name of Steve Brackenbill through gunbroker as a local FFL. He is a good guy to deal with. Not far of Rt 283 I think in Mt Joy area. I have also sold a pistol to him as well. I recommend Steve
