I will be moving to Lancaster area within the next 2 months (new job). I have spent some time doing IDPA and would welcome suggestions as to which club(s) to check out in the Lancaster area (if any) to be able to continue.
Also, advice regarding obtaining my concealed carry permit is also welcome. From viewing packing.org it seems as if the PA process for obtaining a permit is not that difficult. Maine was pretty simple, but Connecticut took 13 weeks. If anyone is selling a big brick house with character in the Lancaster area, or if you know of someone looking to do so, please let me know, or have them contact me via email. Thank you |

Permits in Lancaster county are processed by the Lancaster County Sheriff, they have a webpage with information about LTCFs here. The cost according to that website is $25. For general information about receiving an LTCF in Pennsylvania you can check out the Concealed Carry section of our main website. Good luck on your move, I'm not familiar with Maine's firearm laws but I can tell you this, I'm quite positive Pennsylvania is just as friendly or better! Welcome to the forum as well.

I got my CCW in Lancaster City in under 10 days. I belong to Manheim Sprotsmans Association. They do not do IDPA but check out Tom at Backwoods Outfitters in columbia and he can let you know who does IDPA. I am on vacation so I don't have his number with me. as for the house all I can advise is to stay away from a realtor named Cherkin (sp). I want to go take a shower after meeting him.

If you want to come to York County (next county over), there's IDPA at West Shore Sportsmen's Association. |

Thank you all for your responses. I have noted the info and will check the resources one I arrive on site. I am also considering living in York and commuting to Lancaster, so the suggestion for the IDPA shooting there was also welcome
Thank you again captnwally |

Get a Florida license to carry.
It's good in 31 states where PA is only good in 8 states. Here's a link to get your Florida license in Pennsylvania. http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/weapons/apply.html |

Also, the FL is not good in 31 states, as it would be a non-resident permit. |

Does NH recognize nonresident permits? Does MI recognize nonresident permits?
Nice rebuttal, btw
