i'm not much of a hunter myself, but my buddy used to hunt squirrels with a T/C Contender .22 LR with a scope on it. He said they always did a back flip on the way down. Gotta try it one of these days. Lotta little bones, less tree rats.

I like to hunt them with my Ruger Single Six.

Squirrels... the other red meat... lol
Its been about 20 years since I used a 22(I dont even own a 22 anymore) for tree rats, been using shotguns since my teenage years. Between squirrel, rabbit and dove - I'm quite thrilled about the upcoming adventures in the field.

I use an Ithaca model 37 ultra light in 20ga. Squirrel hunting sucked where I went last year but it was on some really windy days.

It's a blast isn't it?
![]() Last year I switched to a Chipmunk single shot pistol. It's been fun, atleast utill you see a bear and then think that all you have is that single shot .22 on your hip. lol.

Never tried...
Maybe I should. Guessing the course and a small game license is in order... Here's a question though, how do you make sure of your backstop when you are shooting up at a branch on a tree? (sometimes I can be paranoid....) |

I haven't hunted in over 20 years, but am seriously considering for squirrel only. I prefer a 22 because after leaving off a 12 gauge in the woods it take a good 20 minutes for things to get back to normal. Then there are the pellets in the potpie, it seems no matter how hard I check I always miss one.
In the wooded areas around here there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of squirrels, so I came up with the idea of live trapping them in the park and relocating them.
