It reads "between" so that means either way... parent to child or child to parent

Either way, if it was proven that the elder son, intentionally gave his father a handgun, under the agreement that it would be given to the 18 year old son, you'd be in a heap of trouble of the above is not legal.

You may NOT transfer a firearm as defined in §6102 directly to your sibling.

You MAY transfer a firearm to your parent, or to your grandparent, (or to your spouse.)

They in turn may transfer the firearm to their child or grandchild.

18yo is the Sportsman's Permit requirement. All Sportsmans Permits are issued by the County Treasurer. Its only a $6 or $7 fee, the form is about the size of a post card, no background checks. It is only good for concealing while hunting, fishing, trapping, and dog training, and going to/from said activities in a vehicle.

If your county issues the LTCF "over the counter", it will take the same amount of time to receive either.. The LTCF will cover you just the same as a Sportsmans Permit, and also when not doing the sporting activities.

Go to the county treasurer's office w/ your hunting license, they will want to see it. They fill out the card, collect your $5.00 and out the door you go; no background check or anything else. The father can give him the firearm, not the OP.

Yes but I still believe he would be allowed to use it to hunt even if it is the brother's handgun

Go to the sheriffs office and get the Sportman's Permit.

You have to be at least 18 years of age to get the permit.
