Default Pheasant pics

Went out on thursday afternoon again. From about 1pm to 3:30pm. Didn't take the dog this time b/c I've been a little bit sick and I didn't feel like keeping up with his crazy ass. I ended up flushing 1 cockbird and missing him and heard several other cockbirds calling from all over the fields. So on after a long sweat ridden walk I decided to hit one small field on the way back to the truck. I flushed this hen and rooster aout 100 yards from one another for a nice limit before heading back home for dinner.

Remember to get out in the fields some time between tomorrow afternoon and friday. They will be putting out fresh birds throughout the state sometime in the next three days. Down here they always do it on Wed or Thurs.

Thanks! I was wondering when they might do that. I was driving by the game farm the other day and was looking at my future meal.

Feddog82, I went out again today not knowing when they might restock some birds. I got one and didn't see much else so I decided to call it a morning and head out. Just as I got to an open field that is in the middle of a corn strip and some brush along the road. I hear what sounds to be a truck pulling a trailer. I get almost to the end of the open field when I hear cackling like nothing I've ever heard before. Then 10-15 roosters and hens start flying over me. I thought, this is more like it.

I felt bad shooting as they flew off the trailer, so I waited til they landed to make an attempt. Wouldn't you know I chased multiple roosters and a hen that wouldn't fly, that I lost while chasing... then flushed 2 hens and 2 roosters that I just couldn't hit.

I need some clay practice next year. lol. Although I only got one today, it was still a good day. Thanks for the heads up again.
