I have a couple places I go to, one being a gamelands, but in the area I hunt at this particular game land, nobody ever goes there... It's literally right up front, maybe 50 yards from the parking lot... Small thicket of woods that the deer always bed at. All I do is sit and wait for a deer to pop out and they're mine...

Oh, and I forgot to mention that yes, you can pull off the road to go hunting as long as the property is not posted. When I do, I like to tie a hunter orange ribbon on my luggage rack so any police that drive by will know I'm hunting, sometimes I'll even leave a note for them and a Sheetz gift card... lol Just remember to scout and stay the required distance away from the road and you'll be fine. Oh, 1 more thing, try to park as far off the road as possible so the shoulder can still be used in an emergency... lol

A friend of my mom, back in the day, would go to hunting camp with all the guys. He would get up early and make everyone breakfast, then sit on the porch of the cabin, drinking coffee with his 44 mag. Waited for the deer to come to him due to all the hunters walking out to their spot. He got a deer every year.

That's hunting.

Chaz, this is blatantly incorrect.

You are NOT allowed to hunt on land just because it isn't posted. If the land isn't either public land (State game lands) or posted as Coop land (White "Cooperation Works" signs) then it is privately owned and requires permission to hunt it

Thanks for all the info/advice. I haven't had much time to be online the past few days, but it looks like I have a good starting point here.

Soup, I'll be in touch about taking you up on your very kind offer. Thanks!

Also if you get your doe tag for 5c you can hunt until mid-late Jan
I honestly don't know what I'm looking to hunt. I guess I'm open to anything.

I have a nice Rem. 870 that could be used for birds, or possibly deer, I have a Ruger 10/22 that I could use for small game, and I have a Taurus Judge that I bought halfway thinking it would be good for rabbits and squirrels if they were close. I just sold a mini-14, the funds are going towards a hunting rifle *of some kind*, though I'm not sure what just yet.
I figure if I try a little bit of everything, I'll figure out what I like and am good at.

This has got to be both the best yet.

I think I see some potential issues with step 2 though...

I'm not a hunter, so I can't help with where to go/how to do it, but just for info., you can't use any semi-automatic weapons in Pa, so the 10/22 is out.
