I don't like this one bit. Our county is usually slow, so when I send in for our doe tags and they dick around all you flat landers (no offense) that want to hunt here in the 2 popular counties. Will have a better chance of getting tags for here then mel that lives here year round, just stupid.

I've requested this be stickied by the Mods as it is crucial info for all hunters that want a doe tag.

Quick question. Last year I didn't get any doe tags but this year I do want to get some. Do I have to apply for doe tags in the county I will be hunting in? Or can I just get them from my local treasurers office?

That being said...

I like that the information will already be printed on the cards. Last year when I got my tags the woman filling it out spelled a ton of things incorrectly and started crossing stuff out blaming me for not speaking slowly enough (mind you she had my license right next to her and was copying from it... I never said a word).

As I understand it you mail you app to your local treasurer and on the app you select the 3 WMUs you would like a tag for and you will get one back. If your first choice is sold out then you will get your second choice and so on.

A doe tag is only good for a certain area.

Now we just need to figure out which county treasurer is the quickest to respoind and send them all the requests.

This is STUPID once again.

The PGC has not made it to the 21st century... they finally hit 1990. Why are we still mailing applications? If I can buy my license online why can't I apply for my doe permit online as well? Its not like they are actual "applications". You get a license you can have a permit. Why do I have to wait for "luck of the draw" or "closest to the county seat wins"?

I remember driving to the stroudsburg post office to drop off our doe permits because that was checked most often and would get your permit doine the quickest... relying oin the mail service is not only stupid but I'd go as far as saying it is retarded!

oh but there I go THINKING again... stupid me. lets review:

1. Mailing permits = Stamps = Post office money and employment

2. County Treasure (each county has to hire more people to go through it) = more money for the county and more employement

3. Doe permits are mailed back out = more stamps = more money for post office

4. Encouranging online buying = more postage

5. Having the ability to submit report cards online does nothing as most people don't do them anyway. All it does is make the PGC look better and the state look like it takes more deer (they will vaslty overinflate the number taken anyway)

and this one ALMOST sounded like it would be a benefit for the hunter
The current antlerless permit system is mandated by law. The PGC has no choice but to do it the way it is done. Its long past overdue to remove the County Treasurer's from the system.
