Default Turkeys attracted to blue cars?

Hi everyone,

For about two years now we have had a problem with the flock of turkey around our house attacking two of the cars we have in the drive way. Strangely, both of them happen to be a shade of midnight blue. Regardless I think it has something to do with the reflection, and I don't mind that.

What I do have a problem with is all the scratches, dents, pecks, and assorted damage these things are doing to a pair of otherwise perfectly new cars. over the years we have tried scaring them off starting with BB guns or rocks and working up to the 410 and 12ga. They keep coming back.

So I have decided it's time to get rid of them as the attacks are happening every day, and the cost to repair is surely in the thousands. I don't care to eat the birds, I just want to stop them from doing this any longer but I do plan to "off" the main offender. What is the fastest way to quickly field strip and freeze this bird so at least it will not go to waste?

Any help is welcomed

Thanks,
Brian

Make cuts the whole way around the lower legs and peel 'em right down to the neck. Cut off the neck and all teh feathers go with it. Then make a cut where the breast meets the lower torso. You don't cut up the middle through the breast meat. Basically you go the bottom of the breast on both sides and cut along the breast to the backbone. There is actually a line you can see. At that point the insides pretty much drop out. Wash it off, wrap it and freeze.

Have you tried an owl decoy?

It's past that point. I'm sorry, but it's go time.

Thanks for the help, that's what I needed.

It does make me wonder why they don't go after my shiny black jeep?

you know, when i was a kid, my pops and i were in the truck going fishing one sat morning, and i still remember to this day because it was so funny.....a turkey, running down the middle of the road on the center yellow lane....chasing a beat-up chevy s-10 pickup truck. Heh i guess they do like blue.

You live in west deer, right?

I'll think about it. If they are still around after i get the ringleader, i might take you up on that.
