Default anyone like squirrel hunting?

just curious if anyone here likes to hunt small game - my buddy and i went out for squirrels the first day - we got out a little late and we seen five or six, but we couldn't shoot any - one was crossing the road, two were about twenty feet off of the road, one ran up the tree way too fast to shoot at and the last one was in a tree with a posted sign on it right on the very edge of the state game lands - i swear they all knew it too......... smart little rascals, but i'm going again monday and i'll hopefully get some of their cousins or other relatives, lol...........

I take my Daughter out Squirrel hunting. For me it is an excuse to walk in the woods, but she loves it. If we shoot any it might be 1 or 2. I use the time to scout for Turkeys for the week end of the 27.

Although you get more with a shotgun, I enjoy using a .22 much more, I usually use them in stew. Squirrel hunting is relaxing, you can scout for deer and it birngs me back to my boyhood days.

We always eat them. If we each get a limit or close to it, my buddy makes a killer squirrel pot pie for dinner that night in camp. If we only get a few, we cook up the legs like hot wings.

I haven't taken many squirrels with a shotgun. I mostly hunt them with a Marlin 880SS or a Taurus model 970 Tracker, both in .22LR.

I love to go squirrel hunting. Like others I usually skin em and eat the legs, but what I value the most is getting back into shooting at critters. I like to use a single shot .410. In the past I used a 16 GA remington 870, but it's a little much for squirrels. Rabbit comes in this weekend, and that's when the real fun begins..
