Default 1911 - Safety

If I don't end up selling the 1911 I took in a trade (it's in the classifieds) would someone here be able to help me with fixing the old one or putting a new one in? I called two different gun shops both who refused to work on a Taurus and told me to send it back to the manufacturer. I have viewed some online tutorials about replacing it but since I'm not familiar with 1911's I'm not sure I want to try this, I'm also not very "handy".

not a problem just let me know when you want to get it done and if you have the replacement part.
