Default Removing flash hider that was installed with Rockset

Anybody have a tip on removing a QD suppressor mount that was installed with Rockset? It's a Surefire muzzle brake adapter for the FA556-212 suppressor and it's on an AR barrel. Long story short, it needs to come off and I need to salvage both the brake and barrel. I know that stuff is supposed to be permanent but have heard that you can get it to leave go if hot enough? Is this true and how hot are we talking here? I mean the stuff is used to hold a muzzle device on the end of a hot barrel...

Get an old pair of leather gloves, cut fingers off and slip over a pair of vise-grip pliers. Dump 5 magazines, try to unscrew brake. If it won't budge, it's not hot enough... lol
Sometimes they can be welded or pinned in place, check very, very carefully...

Oh, and rocksett softens at 700 degrees C, thats about 1300 degrees F... It melts at 800 degrees C, which is nearly 1500 degrees F... A regular propane torch can reach about 1900 degrees C, which is around 3600 degrees F... So get the padded vice-grips, heat the thing, and it will eventually loosen. Just make sure to use only the amount you truely need so you don't warp the barrel...

Use a paint removal gun on high...lots less carbon than the torch...

Thanks guys I got it off with a propane torch, an old wrench (there were flat spots to get on it with a wrench) and some leather welding gloves. I appreciate all the advice.
