I am trying to swap out the pistol grip on my Mossberg 500A for a synthetic stock. Only problem is I can't get the damn bolt out!!! Anyone have any suggestions??

Which bolt are you talking about? The bolt that holds the pistol grip or buttstock on? or the bolt in the action? more details will help get a better answer.

The bolt that holds the pistol grip on. I am switching it out to a regular stock. There's only one bolt that holds it in place on this shotgun.

The buttstock and pistol grip should be held on with one bolt that goes into the back of the receiver. Looks like item 4 on this diagram. If it's a rubber grip, the hole may be undersized so the bolt isn't visible. Poke around and see if it's in there.

Think that makes it #12 in that picture above.

IIRC that is a hex? Have you tried tapping(not beating on it like you're driving a penny nail) the screwdriver/ hex key with a hammer?

PB Blaster?

Putting the gun in a padded vise?

Cursed at it and threated to send it to Sarah Brady?

Putting the stock on is quite a fun little task too! Get a real long extension and a thin wall socket to reinstall the bolt!

The bolt that came out was a recessed hex head type. But the bolt that went back in was a hex cap type. It was slotted so I started it and snugged it up with a screwdriver first to make sure I didn't cross thread it before I cranked it down with a socket.
