Just have a gunsmith turn it down and thread it. Then wind on and index the brake of your choice.

Muzzle break?????? Oh you mean that thing that goes on the end of the gun you should'nt have bought because your a pussy?

Have a gunsmith do it for you and enjoy. Make sure you get some quality ear prtection, as the noise level goes thru the roof.

Unless you have access to a lathe and dies, it'd be best to take it to a well equipped gunsmith. Many smiths dont do such involved things due to the cost of a good metal lathe. If you do a search online you'll probably find a good one. Fee's usually range from $50 to $200 for the metal work, the brakes range from $40 to $300, and (re)finishing/finish matching runs from $30 to $200.

Dont let the goofy remarks about brakes get to ya. Some of us just like picking on the urbanite n00bs that are too wuss'd to any sort of recoil(not saying you are one). We do realize that a brake is quite handy to help keep your self on target so you can see the hit or miss on longer shots. And as mentioned prior - get good hearing protection!!

I have no idea where one is locally for you, but I have heard there are a couple towards Philly that do good work.

Threading should cost $50-100, the break should be another 50-100.

I would not go to a gunsmith [for anything] that does not have a lathe.

IMHO done get it, it will make your rifle much louder.

i know a guy that has a machinist friend with all the tools to do the job so that part isnt the problem ( just talked to him the other night) finding the brake is the issue
As far as the recoil goes lets just say ... I wanna shoot a 50 BMG just to feel the recoil

Retaining the sight picture is more the purpose than protecting your shoulder for a lot, if not most shooters, at least in competition. Silhouette shooters like to see the impact so they can see where they hit, not just see that the silhouette went down.
Muzzle brakes....not just for wusses anymore.
