And gunsmithing for all
Interesting article I just read on Wired. I wanted to share and see what you all thought of it.

Annoying is my label.
It has never been illegal for one to make his own NFA-legal gun.
Tracing of guns is another non-issue spoon-fed to the public.
But expect this to be one of the last bites causing our tree to fall.
Wonder if law will go after Jay Leno for violating copyrights for making car parts with his 3D CNC machines.

Re: And gunsmithing for all
I'm concerned that juris doctors working for BATFE and state legislators and similar desk pilots will try to create countering regulation in clumsy fashion, creating more ridiculous crap to live with.

Re: And gunsmithing for all
A few weeks ago I came upon a Netflix documentary, "Print the Legend" about the people and companies involved in the evolution of 3D printing. Among those featured and interviewed was Cody Wilson (the focus of the referenced "Wired" article) with his 3D-printed AR-15 lower and "Liberator" pistol.
It wasn't at all technical but it might be of interest to anyone who's interested in the companies, people and evolution of 3D printing. (about 1:35)

Re: And gunsmithing for all
I quit reading at the little black box that uses a "drill bit"...Anyone writing an article on ANYTHING should at least minimally know the correct terms for what they are writing about...Gee, I think I will write an article about the wooden sticks they use in baseball...This article doesn't even scratch the surface of what is involved and the cost of actually producing a lower receiver on a CNC MILL, as well as all the knowledge needed to program it
