Default Couple New Revolver Pics.

Here is one I don't think I've ever shown. Another member of the family. We've had her since '90 or '91

This is Mom's home defense gun. That I seem to be the only one to shoot it or take care of it.

S&W Model 586-3 in .357 Trim. 6in Barrel and an Oh-so-sweet trigger job.

Yeah, I read about a recall on the 586 aswell. About it needs to be checked to see if it can handle the Magnum loads?

Mine doesn't have the extra stamp on it either.

the bushing the firing pin comes through on the frame had too large a hole on the first two versions(58X and 58X-1) some primers at the time were either to soft or thin. with hot loads they could "flow" back around the firing pin and back into the bushing, therefore locking the gun up.
models that have a "-2" or higher number after the model number do not need to worry about the issue.
basicly any one of them after 1987 is ok. and really the problem was only because of, iirc, one primer company, and it was a real limited issue.

there is no doubt it can handle mag loads. it's the first line in the L frames. designed solely as a lighter weight .357 magnum.
