Default Great luck at the gun shop.... then my wife claims the gun!

I stopped in at Village Arms last week, for a few things, and saw this Colt Officers ACP laying in the case. It had Hogue wrap around grips on it, but I put a set of slim Rosewood grips on instead.

My wife properly claimed it as her own, which I don't mind, I'm happy to see her well armed. She loves the 1911 platform, and this is a nice size for her.

I thought $549 was a good price for a cherry stainless Colt, no?

Sweet! I don't know much about 1911 prices, but $549 sounds like a steal for a Colt!!

Damn good find. I don't blame the wife for claiming it as her own

Had something similar happen to me recently. Bought a G19 from another forum member a few weeks ago (actually bought an AR15, G19 and a mosin M38 for $1000. Thanks again, Chris!!!) Took it home, then took it for a walk over to my dad's house. My dad told me he IS going to buy it from me for $300. I said, yes sir. He gave me $300, I gave him the Glock 19 with three mags. *SIGH*

I have my rifle. Do you?

Not yet - I picked up a Wilson Combat beavertail grip safety, and dropped it off at the shop, for the smith to install.

I just don't like the abbreviated little grip safety Colt puts on these guns. I like a higher grip, with a bigger beavertail, and a bigger 'memory bump' on the grip.

Even if it is her gun, I need it to be comfortable for me to shoot occasionally.

I'm expecting modest recoil. It's a heavy enough gun that it shouldn't be too snappy, in spite of it's smaller size.
