Default Ruger 10/22 build

Last winter I built up this Ruger 10/22....
It was neat to do! The accuracy of this thing is amazing...it goes to the range with me every time I go!

I've taken it out to 100 yards so far.

The build is as follows:

Ruger stainless reciever
Tapco T-6 stock
UTG quad rail (took LOTS of work to make it fit the Tapco!)
Tactical Solutions threaded barrel (suppressor is next on the list)
Tactical Solutions compensator
Volq trigger kit (now 2.5 lbs!)
WalMart scope
CAA Foregrip (these are really nice)
(2) 30 round Shooter's ridge Mags
(2) Hot Lips 50 round mags
(2) Eagle 50 round Mags

I do have a lot of fun with this thing!

I'm fairly certain I could have bought a decent used AR for what I spent building this however:

1. I have other weapons for home defense
2. This puts holes in paper just like an AR (even the same size)
3. Ammo is much, much cheaper. That allows me more range trips and for longer lengths of time, which is a good thing!

If I had to do it over, I'd look long and hard at the new S&W and Colt .22's. Not saying the Ruger is bad by any means...just that there are other choices out there now!

I loved monkeying with it though....it's so much fun to do "mag dumps" at mere pennies per run!

Ruger receivers are aluminum. so saying "stainless" is 'kinda' accurate, it is NOT steel. Just brushed Al. Looks nice. Got any target picts?

Very Nice. I have said it before and I'll say it again "I Love 10/22's"

Actually I don't (although I've ridden dirt since I was about 10 years old).
A buddy gave me the name when we used to work out together and it kind of stuck....it was during an extensive leg work out & I used every plate available at Albright College on an incline leg press (I think it was somewhere around 800-1000lbs). It was pretty crazy.

I'd love to get a quad, but since getting married & having 3 kids, all of my "dangerous" toys have gone bye-bye!
