Default My Collection

I got into the sport of shooting about a year ago. Over the course of that year I went from "one gun, not stored in our house" to "four guns MAX, EVER, and they are stored in a safe at home"

The first firearm was:

Next I got a Yugo (numbers matching except for the floorplate) 24/47 Mauser. It was supposed to be a gift, it ended up staying as mine. I have since added the scout scope mount and scope, and a match trigger.

The stock needs to be taken off and have the remainder of the cosmoline sweated out followed by some Boiled Linseed Oil.

Next I wanted a pistol. The FN FNP-9 won that honor for me. It feels good in my hand, has swallowed anything I've fed it, is much more accurate than I am, and isn't TOO big to conceal.

I was good for a while with the rifle, carbine and pistol. But that didn't last.

Then recently I shot a well broken in Ruger Mk II pistol and fell in love. Found a decent deal on this Mk III Hunter at Targetmaster this past Fathers' day:

I have already ordered the Volquartsen Accurizing kit for it, and will have the install done by Targetmaster. I don't want to risk scratching it by slipping when tapping out a pin or something similar.

Then I sold the Storm to my dad, and added my latest infatuation this past Friday. The Marlin 39a.

This gun has a Williams FP peepsight on the way.

And that's what I have. The last two, the 22s, have been added in the last week. With the rising cost of ammo, and a brick being almost as cheap as a 50-pack of 9mm, I figured I'd get a 22 in rifle and pistol form.

Anyhow... I mostly go shooting at Targetmaster or French Creek ranges for Indoors. Or I go to the gamelands at French Creek.

I am currently looking into a membership at a range. The Southern Chester County one in Kennett looks promising, but I JUST missed their monthly "wannabe member" meeting.

Anyhow, I am here. This group seems fun and has good information to learn from. Hope you don't mind if I kick my feet up and relax. And don't worry, the shoes are relatively new, so they don't stink yet.

Hey MTechnik: what do you do for a holster for the FNP-9? I have the 9M and agree...they are a very nice gun. Feels very good in the hand and is easy to operate. I bought a High Noon pancake holster for it and hate it. I have an IWB that someone on the board made for me and it is nice. However...all of my clothes fit me well and I don't want to buy all new clothes to wear it. I'm looking for a paddle holster ideally. I have to make another round on the various holster manufacturer's websites.

I have an Uncle Mike's nylon holster for a sig 229 I think. But it is an OWB holster, so it is no good for CCW.

I'll be taking a look around, but I think holsters have become more available for the FNPs. Check http://fivesevenforum.com/forums/ as I think they can tell you every model of holster that will fit an FNP there. (Registration necessary.)

When my licence comes in, I'll have to look for an IWB holster that will fit the baby. But for trips to the range and keep it on me, the existing one works fine.

Edit: I took a look and found http://www.blade-tech.com/Blade-Tech...er-pr-821.html is an option, and they make one for the FNP.

Thanks!

I just got the Williams FP mounted onto the marlin last nite. The LocTite should be nice and dry for shooting tomorrow.

I have a red dot sight I bought for the storm and took off that is sitting around. I may put it on the Ruger MkIII for kicks. But it is a big tube red-dot and black. Clashes with the pretty stainless. The accurizing kit for the Ruger also arrived, so that will be going to the shop this weekend and get left there for a while. Don't want to slip while tapping out a pin and gouge her.
